CTMH Taste of Summer Baby Card

Hey y’all!  The day started out incredibly humid- after running around in it getting my groceries bought and trying to keep my kids in line while doing it- I began to wonder what’s worse: being sticky – feeling due to humidity or sweaty due to the heat. It’s almost a tie, I think!
I have a card to share today!

image

Every single element, ink and stamp on this card is Close to My Heart! Only the brads and grey and teal papers aren’t CTMH. This card card was made for a friend that had a baby a few weeks ago. I’m still swooning over pics of him. He’s so adorable! (Not to mention every other newborn in the history of ever).
This card was my inspiration, and is pinned to this Pinterest board.

CTMH Today Layout

It’s a blah day here, but it’s still warm! To help brighten up our day, how about a lookey loo at a layout I made?!

image

This time around, I used some SU patterned paper, along with CTMH patterned papers, inks and chipboard embellishments. The cardstock is Recollections.
Stay tuned for more layout fun tomorrow!

Floral Thank You Teacher Card

Good morning! It’s another scorcher today! Phew!
I have a teacher Appreciation card to share with you today! I looked on Pinterest for ideas, and the card I lifted is one that I found in that search. It’s saved to my Pinterest here. All the other Teacher Appreciation cards that inspired me can be found here.

Clean and super simple. Right? I LOVE this style! It’s always what I’m drawn to first. I’m finding I’m also being drawn to the floral stamp I used a lot lately, too. I can’t get enough of it- and layering it, too! Here’s what I mean:

image

I chose a soft, neutral background, enabling the bright colors of the stamping and patterned papers to pop. In.Love! That is all 😆
Tune in tomorrow for the next layout in my special request album! Enjoy the first day of your week!

CTMH Happiness Layout

Hello friends! I’m dropping in with another installment from my special request scrapbook album. After a long reprieve (I started typing this post this morning), this is the page I’m sharing today!

image

I began by using a Recollections mask and spritzed some Heidi Swapp color shine in mustard in the background. Next, I layered some washi tapes above and below the photo mat (both CTMH), then layered some scrap cardstock and patterned paper (CTMH) directly underneath the photos. All the embellishments and stamping, including ink, is Close to My Heart. Lastly, I splattered some Ranger Ink spray inks across the page (in mustard and green).

Monster- Or Bug?! Birthday Card

Good morning! Happy hot, humid and toasty Tuesday! It wasn’t even 9 o’clock,  and my kids came in from outside asking if I would turn on the sprinkler. You know it’s going to be a scorcher when it’s hot at 9 am already!
Instead of a layout, I have one more card to share today! The main image on my take of this card is open to interpretation, but on the original it’s fairly obvious.

image

This is so stinking adorable, I almost can’t contain it! I love that small washers or nuts were used to make the eyes…there are some lying around in the garage, I’m certain, but they aren’t shiny and new like these are. Ours are probably pretty nasty.
Here’s my take:

image

So, I’ve been told they look like bugs …I just can’t get past the fact they are bread tags (hand stamped and fussy cut). I’d like to think they look like monsters, but they very much resemble bugs or bread tags with sequin eyes on them. What do they look like to you?!
Hint– I actually flipped the stamped side over, so that only the cardstock appears. I didn’t want joy appearing on each stamped image. I used some EP patterned papers and Recollections cardstock to make this card. There’s a tiny bit of Balloon Ride (CTMH) patterned paper in there and the ‘celebrate’ (SU) is stamped in Outdoor Denim (CTMH) ink.

CSM June Sketchy Challenge Using CTMH

Hey! Welcome to Saturday! We’re in for another crazy day today- we’re heading out for a birthday party, and then my sister and brother in law are driving out for a visit, with my parents joining us for Father’s Day tomorrow. I’m also going to be at Arts in the Park tomorrow. If you’re around Whitecourt between 11 and 3, you should come out! Tomorrow also happens to be National Aboriginal Day, which means there’ll be lots of stuff to see tomorrow! #mywhitecourtlife
As part of celebrating graduating from junior kindergarten, we took the kids to Pixars’ premiere (in Whitecourt) of Inside Out. Without ruining the movie, it was cute. You should go. I wasn’t really interested in seeing it, but I’m glad I went. It’s smart. That’s all I’ll say.

Here we are, family selfie style. Usie, I guess!
Just to switch things up a little, I’ve got a layout to share with you today! My inspiration came from Canadian Scrapbookers’ June Sketchy challenge. Here’s the sketch:

image

I rotated the sketch to work with a 4×6 inch photo, and used a variety of scraps to design it! The stitching along the outside portion of the inner mat is actually stamping. Yeah, I cheated! All products used are Recollections, Echo Park and CTMH! Can you guess what product is what?
