Count Your Blessings

I may or may not have created a colorboard from this spread. Just sayin’! I’m absolutely in love with the colors and how quickly and seamlessly this design came together! I used Blossom here again (as well as the layout below), and used some miscellaneous cling – mount leaf stamps I’ve had kicking around for ages. The ‘joys’ sticker has been in my stash for quite a while too- and it worked perfectly here!

image

I stamped more on this page- it’s all CTMH here!
I’m hoping to make it back here tomorrow! My husband is off work this week with an injury to his shoulder. Needless to say, our lives go from crazy to insane when he’s around!
At any rate, I’ll be back soon!

Roar!

Good afternoon!

I know I shared this layout previously, but I wanted to share it again. I created this layout using the CTMH Blossom patterned papers and the stamp set that comes FREE with our special this month. If you would like the Balloon Wishes stamp set, all you need to do is order the marker roll up, retailing for $21.25 CAD. See it here. Order your own marker roll up OR accessory roll up on my website, http://www.theeverydayscrapbooker.ctmh.com. This deal is available only until August 31, 2015!

Like yesterday’s layout (scroll back one post), this layout was also inspired by that adorable Siberian tiger toy. I added brown to this spread, more closely resembling this tigers colors.
I’ll be back again tomorrow with more scrappy goodness!
Have you had the chance to try out my HUESday challenge yet? Find it here! You’ll have until September 1 to play along, then I’ll post a new color scheme!

Play

…so as luck would have it, lessons are not done for the year, yet. My one daughter had the biggest melt down of her life at the pool today. It turns out she didn’t want her lessons to be over yet. So, to indulge her- and reward her for passing this level, she (along with her sister, who also passed) are enrolled in the next swimming session. Thank goodness we’ve got a week to relax before getting back at it! Gymnastics is also coming up too. Looks like “slowing down” is not in the cards for this family!

image

The Siberia tiger toy inspired the background in my layout. I cut it with my cricut explore. I also cut the title, using miscellaneous stickers and ctmh stamping to finish it off. I’m just loving this playful layout!

image

I went to town on this layout, stamping and coloring my own background. The title was cut with my cricut explore- actually, so was the frame that’s layered behind the paper doll (who is ctmh stampedand also colored in). I stamped and fussy cut a few butterflies to symbolize growth to complete the design.
I’ll be back again soon with more scrappy goodness!

Endless Summer

Good morning! We have one swimming lesson left after today, and then the countdown to school and our first camping trip of the season begins!

image

My current view right now, ha! The pool was our second home this summer.
We are taking our first camping trip on September long…we found a used trailer that was perfect for our family- we’ve been looking and saving for one for a while, and we finally brought it home on Tuesday! The twins were just tickled.

image

I have more layouts to share today, as well.

image

Except for the journaling spot and the little bird, all the stamping here is CTMH. I also cut a floral background with my cricut and layered, layered, layered paper and some printed vellum.

image

Here, I used a stencil to create part of the background and watercolored the rest. The sun and beachy embellishments are K&Co; the umbrella and title were cut with my cricut.
Enjoy! See everyone again soon!

Sharing in Your Sorrow

image

image

I’m back again today, and even though I’ve got a special request installment II layout, I wanted to share another card that was made for a sweet rainbow baby. She was just 3 weeks old when she succumbed to SIDS. Her daddy works with my husband, and it’s touched us all.
The layout was created using my cricut explore. I matted some scrap patterned paper underneath the 4 on the ruler, denoting this sweet baby’s age in the layout. I also layered some patterned paper underneath the arrow for added oomph. Lastly, I stamped and fussy cut part of the title and added a punched border to the cardstock in the background.
I have one more layout that I made to share today, using the Balloon Wishes stamp set. If you purchase the marker roll up case (retail value $21.25), you’ll receive the Balloon Wishes stamp set free!

If Wishes…

Hello everyone! School has GOT to start soon so that I can get back into sone sort of routine! Life has gotten even more chaotic since the twins returned from their vacation down south. Oy! Two weeks left- and counting!
I’m stopping in with a card I made awhile ago, for the twins’ little school friend. It was discovered, after a fall playing with her brothers this summer, that she’s got an arachnoid cyst in her brain; falling caused it to burst and leak CSF into her brain. After numerous setbacks, it seems she’s finally on the road to recovery, but she’s still got an incredibly long healing journey ahead of her. Unfortunately, she’ll live the rest of her life with a cerebral shunt. Making this card, along with sending some home-cooked food with her mom to the hospital, was the least I could do. There were many other things I could have done, but taking this avenue just felt right to me. I’d want the same if I was in their position. (But would never think to ask, or bother to ask).
I found a card on Pinterest that inspired the one I made.

I’m hoping to be back again soon to post more. Please stop by again- I appreciate your visits!

Creative Parentheses

Good morning! So, I mentioned a couple days ago something called “parentheses projects”. What exactly does that mean?
As you’re aware, I’ve been working on a second special request album (my third from this particular customer, actually). When I first brought home the materials my customer gave me (just pictures and an 8×8 album with page protectors), I was confused by wedding pictures that were included. The album I’m working on is for a girl no older than 15, so wasn’t sure what she had in mind.
As it turns out, my customer wanted just a couple engagement and wedding photos included in my first special request album. She contacted me after the wedding (10 days after the wedding took place) to explain what those pictures were about. So, the projects I’m sharing today are a little break from project special request installment II- a creative parentheses, if you will!

And there you have it! Maybe this’ll turn into a wedding album at some point, too!
Tomorrow, I’ll have another card to share before jumping back into sharing my regular special request installment II programming . See you all again soon!

So Sorry

image

For a change, I thought I’d share a card I made a couple weeks ago for friends that lost their son to an accident. C was a childhood playmate of mine, and would have turned 31 on August 7. I was floored when mom told me about it. His parents are still our (our as in my parents’) neighbors, so I mailed this off to them shortly after learning of his passing.
I started off by adding a little watercolor to the background, then layered green embossed (with my cuttlebug) cardstock and the title square on top. For added punch, I added some CTMH washi tape, stamped, colored (with Shin Han markers) and fussy cut feathers (also CTMH) and adhered some Bakers twine and sequins around the feathers. The stamped sentiment is SU. A CTMH card that I found on Pinterest inspired my card.

You’ll find this card saved to my Fave Card Scraplifts board on Pinterest.
