Special Guests Layout

Good morning, friends.

Today, I’m sharing a double page layout that I created a couple months’ ago. I’m so grateful I had a stockpile of projects to share with you throughout the summer months, because my beloved crafty time suffered while my kids were home. I didn’t get to play at all! I’m going through withdrawals 😣

Tomorrow is the big day- back to school. Bring on my introverted me time!

Truth be told- all my projects, even though they may be new to you when I post them here, are at least two months old. The date stamp on the picture of my layout below is June 6. Crazy, right?!

Fun fact: the last time I scrapbooked was July 26. I don’t know how I managed to scrapbook with my kids around, but I did it! So, I suppose my above statement is an overstatement. It felt like the entire summer, when only half of it became torture without my crafty time.

Alright, moving on. I was inspired by a Free Sketch Friday sketch created by Scrapbook Generation. I used a mixture of scrap papers out of my stash (CTMH and Recollections), and I used a sheet of the gorgeous CTMH cardstock Peacock for the background.

I cut the banner and title using my cricut, and embellished using stamps, stickers and paper scraps from my stash.

Shoestring Planner Tuesday

Hi everyone!

It’s another Tuesday, which means it’s planner day on my blog!

I was a bit better at embellishing last weeks’ spread- here’s the proof:

With fall in the air, I’ve had a hankering to start some baking. I made an Apple Crumble in my crock pot, and now I’m thinking about making my pumpkin Loaf. I need more pumpkin puree- I came across a pumpkin smoothie recipe recently, too! Yum!

(I mention this to explain the baking day entry on Saturdays day view).

The adorbs little hippo you see is CTMH; I stamped her in permanent ink then colored her in with my Shin Han markers (after the permanent ink dried). She originally was intended for another project, but I wasn’t sure I liked how dark her skin was (at the time). Now, I think she’s simply adorable! After coloring her in, I fussy cut the image out, then adhered it in my planner.

Also, the patterned paper squares were also scraps that were leftover from a previous project. You’ll likely see more of that particular paper in the near future (in my planner and elsewhere). 😉

Make it Monday

Hello, friends.

I’m really excited to share today’s Make it Monday post.  I’ve mentioned this recipe a couple times now, and it’s time I finally shared it!

Truth be told, I finally just made it (which enabled me to take a picture of it), so now I can share it!

This recipe, called Mac Chicken Cacciatore, is another wonderful Kraft Canada creation. It was an instant favorite in my household (though my kids like trying to tell me they hate chicken in their macaroni), and it’s always gobbled up. Quick and easy is key in my household!

Making this meal is easy peasy. Make your Kraft Dinner as per the instructions found on the box. In the meantime, once your chicken is thawed, cut breasts into bite-sized cubes, then brown in a skillet. Season as you like.

Next, mix cooked chicken into your Kraft Dinner, along with some salsa (I usually mix roughly a 1/2 cup into ours- I make two boxes of KD so there’s enough for all 4 of us to eat).

Voila! Dinner is served! Steamed broccoli pairs nicely with this dish, as does carrots or a salad.

Bon appétit!

Our Favorite Ogre

Hello friends!

This sketch  (which originally used a cut file created by 17 Turtles- and, which I didn’t use), inspired today’s layout.

I used an image from my cricut explore, and layered my photo and title on top. The title was also cut with my cricut explore.

I water colored the stars (which were left over from another project), and stamped just a teensy bit. The papers are a mixture of CTMH and Recollections.

Snail Mail Saturday

Hello dear friends!

It was a slow week in terms of snail mail, but I do have a little bit of smail goodness to share with you!

This letter came in on Thursday from L, my pal in Sweden. (The little bit I’ve seen of this stunning, charming country, has me dying to learn and see more of it!)

I loved the plastic embroidery holders so much, she sent me a couple. That’s how she sent her washi in her first letter. Genius! (And, for those wondering where to get them, like I did, check out eBay!)

Well, that’s all I’ve got to share for snail mail this week. Enjoy!

Life’s a Peach

Good morning friends!

I created this lighthearted layout using a fabulous sketch from Laura Whitaker for Stuck?! Sketches.

I began by watercoloring the background using Gelatos, abd punching aroynd the page by using a border punch. Then, I cut a large peach using my cricut and adhered it ontop of the watercolored layer. Next, I cut the banner and part of the title using my cricut, then added some sticker alphas and stamping from CTMH to complete this page.

Endless Summer

Hello friends!

Today I’m sharing this double page layout I created using this sketch from over at Sketch Support.

I cut the title, pineapple and image behind it with my cricut, as well as the lime on the left page. The flamingos and leaves were stamped using CTMH ink and stamps.

Shoestring Planner Tuesday

Hello friends!

Sorry today’s blog post is so late. I usually post a day ahead, so that I don’t get behind, but I’ve been way behind on life since returning from camping. I can’t get caught up! I’m trying to get back into my routine, but life has other ideas right now. So, I’m posting as I’m able to! Like right now 😊

This weeks’ planner spread is fairly plain, but I do have some washi tape on each view so that there’s a bit of color and brightness in it!

Not much is written in my planner, but last week was busy! On Saturday, the twins and I wandered into Edmonton to finish up back to school shopping. We left on Friday, after the alarm guy came to fix my home alarm system. What a rush!

Hopefully next weeks’ spread will be slightly fuller and more decorative!

Make it Monday

Hello, friends, welcome to another make it Monday!

Next week, I’m hoping to share my Kraft Mac Chicken Cacciatore recipe, and today I’m going to share my Kraft Go-Go Green Smoothie. So delish!

*Note: All images from Kraft Canada.

I hope you enjoy today’s recipe! We just had it for breakfast and is super tasty. I love it and my kids love it. Double score!
