Shoestring Planner Tuesday

Hello friends! It was a fabulous holiday weekend here, but I’m so glad that we’ve returned to a normal schedule. It was kind of tough getting going this morning, but now that I’m back at it, I feel good!

I have last weeks’ planner spread to share with you. Are you ready for it?!

I kept it simple- added some scrap patterned paper squares to each day view, alternating it’s placement, then stamped and added ephemera to decorate it some. You’ll even see some rub- ons!

Play Layout

Good morning! Are you enjoying your weekend so far?

It’s looking like another day to play inside, unlike the day we spent with Oma in the picture above. Any day spent with our grandparents is a blast!

My inspiration came from this sketch over at Let’s Get Sketchy. I cut the file folders with my cricut (two of them), then layered them slightly askew. Next, I added 3×4 inch scraps if paper to the inside of the top file folder, adding my photo ontop lastly.

I finished my page with a few other odds die cuts and stickers.

Love Layout

Hello friends. It’s a holiday weekend here in Canada- we’re celebrating Thanksgiving on Monday. I’m cooking dinner for my family, my FIL and one of my husbands’ buddy’s. You won’t see me here Sunday or Monday, but I’ll catch up with you again on Tuesday!

Since it’s a holiday weekend, it also means my kids get an extra long weekend. Today is a PD day for the teachers. Yay for extra long weekends!

I hope my kids will let me play for a bit today! Maybe they’ll come for a walk with me too! (A mom can dream!)

I began with this sketch, using a stamp to create the grid in the background. (The ink is CTMH).

I layered strips of scrap patterned papers to create two focal points- one to mat my photo and the other as an embellishment cluster.

The title was cut with my cricut, and I completed my page using various stickers and ephemera.

Smitten Layout

Good morning!

I’m sharing an “usie” of my husband and I. It isn’t often yours truly makes it into a layout, but here it is. Sick it up, because it’ll be a million layouts before I wind up in another one. Just kidding, lol.

I began by creating a watercolor background, then layered scrap papers ontop of it. I used a CTMH PML card (Picture my life), stamped and fussy cut some elements, and cut the title with my cricut.

To finish, I added some bakers twine, lace ribbon and old Jillibean ephemera.

This Shimelle Laine layout sketch inspired me.

Hello, Life Layout

Hi everyone! When you’re reading this, I’ll likely be well on my way into Edmonton to pick up my computer. It turns out the fan pooped out. Thank goodness for small miracles! We didn’t want to have to buy a new computer (or pay to fix what we thought the issue was!)

Even though I’m not here, you can still enjoy a layout I made.

My little lady wasn’t a very happy camper here. It was wet and cold, and I think she’d had enough socializing for one afternoon!

I picked up the yellows in M’s raincoat and carried it into the rest of my layout, as well as the pink. I began by creating a watercolor effect in the background.

Next, I layered MME and Jillibean Soup patterned paper scraps ontop of the watercolor and on the right edge of the page.

I stamped some of the embellishments with ctmh stamps and ink, and used punches to create the rest.

Lastly, I journalled directly on the layout base, creating a border along the right edge of the page.

This layout sketch by Laura Whitaker inspired my layout.

Shoestring Planner Tuesday

Hello friends, it’s Tuesday! Feel like some planner goodness today?

As you can see, there was not much going on last week- it was rather quiet. I used scraps of paper to fill in the day views (news using 2 inches x 2.25 inches), then embellished them after all my appointments and reminders were written in.

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp

Hello friends! It’s make it Monday. How does a new recipe sound?

Now that fall has arrived, my slow cooker will start getting its seasonal workout. I tend to use it more during the cold fall and winter months than I do over the summer, and I’ve quickly built up a list of favorite slow cooked meals. My favorite dessert list is substantially shorter, and it’s that recipe I’ll share with you today. (Our favorite slow cooked dessert recipe is only one recipe long, so far). What are your favorite treats that come from your crockpot/slow cooker?

Om nom nom…Apple Crisp! Is there nothing more fall than having an apple crisp for dessert?! I think not. I’m planning to make it again (third time already, in the last month) for Thanksgiving. Eep- so excited!

Here’s the recipe link. If you make it, let me know! I’d love to know what you think of this wonderful dessert!

Oh, Hey Card

Hi everyone! When you’re reading this, I’ll be heading into Edmonton…again…to run more errands with my husband. It’ll be another whirlwind trip. Wish us luck! Lol

Instead of a layout, I have a card to share with you. I made it three months ago, but I’m just now getting around to sharing it.

I used a mixture of washi tapes to create the background, layering it ontop of a white cardstock mat before adhering it to the polka dot green base. I stamped the sentiment, then dovetailed each side to create the pennant. The ink and stamped image are both from CTMH  (Close to My Heart).

I may not drop in tomorrow- it depends on how today goes in the city! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
