Holiday Break

Curious to know what I’ve been up to the last few days?

But first- how was your Christmas?

We had a nice Christmas, filled with family, a surprise guest and severely cold weather, making it a very cozy holiday. It was the best ever.

The surprise guest was my sister. We haven’t seen her since February. She almost didn’t come because road conditions were poor and forced her to turn around and go back home. But, she made it the next day. I didn’t know it until she was 20 minutes out.

My husband had the entire Christmas holiday off, so I didn’t actually get into my haven until Wednesday. And since then, I’ve just been prepping for workshops. It’s boring, but productive. 😊

I want to get it done now, so I can focus on my first love- my personal scrapbooking- before I start planning more events for 2018. I want to host another card buffet before the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog expires. I’m thinking that’ll be at the end of March- then I’ll have Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to think about! I’m excited for what 2018 has in store for me (as in my business!) it’s looking bright and promising!

I’ve also started thinking about the twins’ birthday, which is coming up fast! Time to start planning that, too!

Are you a current customer of mine? Are you part of my Insiders Club? If not, you should get on over there! I have something special happening right now for anyone born in the month of January. To be a part of it, send me a comment and I’ll get you hooked up! (If you’re born later in the year, hold tight. I’m coming for you, too).

A Very Merry Christmas

I just wanted to stop in and wish you all a merry Christmas and a bright new year.

We will be having Boxing Week sales, so when I’m here next, it’ll be to share all the fab deals with you!

In the meantime, thank you so much for your support and love this year. Looking forward to a new, and fantastic, new year with you!

CTMH Wishing You Well

Sigh. We’re battling the flu in my house again. This last month has been exhausting, as has the majority of the year this year. I’m tired.

December is a difficult month. The highlight of the month is celebrating Christmas, but there’s a lot of valleys to walk through before getting there.

A number of our friends are observing the anniversaries of their loved ones passing this month, and I added another friend to that list this morning.

With her unfortunate news, I decided to sit down and create a card for her family.

I used Chelsea Gardens again here. It just feels right for this subject. The other new collections aren’t appropriate.

It isn’t visible in this photo, but the facing edge of the card has been trimmed 0.75 inches shorter than the back portion of the card. I lined it with a strip of glacier cardstock, then layered the coordinating strip on top of it.

I would love to get a picture of it, but it’s already been secured inside an envelope.

Sneak Peek Open House

Happy hump day! I may or may not be counting down the days to Christmas break. Why? I can then sleep in! I feel like I need to catch up on my zees. 😴 Anyone else?

I have a new event to tell you about today.

Join me on Friday, January 12 from 4-5:30 MST for a Sneak Peek seasonal expressions 1 open house. I’ll have my artwork on display using all (actually most) of the new paper collections and embellishments, there will be a make and take station, catalogs to browse through (and to bring home) and the first 5 people through the door will get a prize.

It’ll be held at the Whitecourt library. Don’t miss out!

Here’s the make and take project:

valentines will be a month afterwards, I thought I'd give you something festive to create. If this card looks familiar to you, it's because I based it on the birthday card I shared with you earlier this week. Find it here.

(I liked this card so much, you may find it in my next card buffet, whenever that will be). 😉

I hope to see you there! Spread the word- the more that know about this, the better!

CTMH StarGazer Gift Tags

I had the pleasure of giving this gift to a dear friend for her birthday. It was a bit late, but its better than never. I used the “B” side of the Stargazer paper- which is coming out in January, along with Make Waves and Chelsea Gardens. I hadn’t intended to use this paper quite yet, but the occasion called for it. And, for something different, it isn’t a card or scrapbook layout!

The original idea came from Pinterest (thank goodness for Pinterest!!); the glass jars, double bubbles, hershey kisses and lollipops all came from the Dollarama (sorry my secret is out), but I made the tags. The zip strips are from the Cats & Bats collection. I haven’t shared it here until recently because I was waiting to use it for my kid-friendly valentines workshop in February. I discovered after making the sample that I won’t have near enough zip strips for the border, so I’m swapping it for scraps of the patterned paper. (This collection is being retired at the end of this month. If you wanted it.)

I cut the tags with my Cricut, as well as the number 40. I wrote blows, can kiss it, and sucks beside the number. Lastly, I secured the tag with black twine after the jars were filled  with candy. Another little secret- there may or may not be exactly forty of each candy in the jar…there may be a little less because they wouldn’t all fit!

Stargazer. This paper obviously works for more than just little boy layouts, and layouts about the night sky. It can work for gift tags, too! Here’s a peek of the entire collection:

When I saw this collection, I couldn’t help but think of A. She loves science, and told me recently she wants a telescope so she can star gaze. Uh, hello! Match made in heaven! Also, she loves the whole collection so much, I promised I’d order it for her birthday in February. She needs to chill with her Papa for a bit…he has a telescope and likes to star gaze, too. I think he’d really enjoy that.

Look at that! Stargazer isn’t just for boys or gift tags, its also for little girls that want to look at the stars and loves science! Do you know any little girls like that? The only problem is, we all have to wait until January 1 to order it! Can you wait until then? If you can (even if you can’t), you can visit my website (at the bottom of each of the pictures above). Shop and make a wish list. Maybe have a peek at the Going Soon list, as well. Maybe tell your husband what “he” ordered for your Christmas present. (Wink, wink).

Stay tuned for more inspiration! Thanks for visiting.

CTMH Make Waves

Ready to feast your eyes on another delicious collection that’s soon coming out? Meet Make Waves- for all the sweet mermaids and mermaid lovers in your life.

It isn’t often that a collection includes purple- from any manufacturer. The fact that purple is so dominant in this collection makes my heart happy. The colour scheme works for both my daughters! Pink for M and purple for A!

The twins’ favorite part of this paper- the ombré purple and teal zip strip. I have to agree. It is pretty great. So are the coordinating sequins. I don’t have them yet, but they’re rainbow. Check it out:

Fun right?

Stay tuned for more using this sweet paper collection from CTMH.

Cats Meow Kids Valentine Workshop

Happy Sunday! Ready to start your week? I’m ready to ship one of the twins off to school tomorrow. I think she’s ready, for the most part. One week left until Christmas! Are you ready? I still need to wrap presents, otherwise we’re ready in our house.

Speaking of ready, I got a sample card prepared for my upcoming kids valentines workshop in February. It came together really quickly and I think it’s pretty darn cute. I’m biased though. You be the judge:

A card using the emojis stamp set on page 70 in the Annual Inspirations catalog was my inspiration. I felt the stamp Cats Meow was more valentine appropriate, though. All the kids told me they liked the Emoji’s stamp better. I agree, but there’s nothing ‘valentine’ in the quotes that are included. Cats Meow fit the bill.

Do you live in the Whitecourt area, and do you have children ages 5-11? This workshop is for you! I will cut and stamp everything for the kids. They can glue the pieces together and colour their cats in. There may be some pieces they will need help gluing, but I’ll be there to help them. I’ll supply pencil crayons and glue.

There will be enough supplies for the children to make 30 postcard- style valentines that measure 6×4 inches and the fee is just $25 (includes the cost of shipping). Here’s the items you’ll need:

Payment can be sent via cash or cheque. A lot of people prefer to send e-transfers, as well. I will place your order on your behalf. Placing bulk orders saves everyone moolah. The deadline to pay for the workshop is January 28, 2018. All your supplies will ship directly to me, so just worry about bringing yourself to the library, where our workshop is tasking place. Once your child is done, the leftover bitty sparkles and twine is all theirs.

Want to come? Let me know!

January SOTM Bloom & Grow

Hello friends. Today, I’m sharing a layout I made using the all new Chelsea Gardens paper. This layout actually lay on my desk for a couple days…what I had originally planned to use didn’t jive. I swapped out the Pebble background with White Daisy cardstock, and replaced the light blue (recollections) cardstock with Chelsea Gardens.

Then I realized that January’s SOTM, Bloom & Grow, would look awesome layered next to the picture of my mom and sister. I used Sweet Leaf, Glacier and Whisper inks to create the journaling spot.

Remember, this collection and the SOTM are available beginning January 1, 2018.

CTMH Chelsea Gardens

Dear friends…I’m so excited to share Seasonal Expressions 1 with you. There’s so much great stuff in it, I’m tinkering with hosting an open house. You’ve seriously got to see the stamps, paper collections and embellishments in it! Ah-mazing! For reals! Like, they thought out of the box on this one, and have things like cork embellishments, rainbow sequins, glitter compliments, astronauts, mermaids and neat ideas galore.

Neat ideas? Like what? Just this month, snatch up your very own calendar kit. It’ll make an awesome gift. So will the recipe book kit, which you’ll find only in SE 1. There’s more, like a new travel tote with coordinating accessories. There’s so much to feast your eyes on!

My CTMH came earlier this afternoon. It was perfect timing, because I needed a birthday card and a sympathy card. I finally got my craft on! I feel like I’ve come back to life, lol. Caring for the kids the last 2 weeks has sucked the life right out of me. Thank the lord they’re feeling well enough that I could drown myself in paper for an hour or so.

The first collection I chose to play with is the soft and sweet Chelsea Gardens collection. I felt it was elegant and uplifting enough to work for both cards I needed to make.

I paired Chelsea Gardens with Willow cardstock in the sympathy card and in the birthday card, I paired it with Glacier and Linen cardstock. Happy birthday was stamped using Peacock ink, while With Sympathy was cut using my Cricut. The slightly yellow cast to my photos is care of my living room lamp. Apparently the natural light begins fading around 3 pm here in Whitecourt!

The entire collection looks like this:

Simply stunning!!! Beginning January 1, 2018, this collection will be available to purchase. The scrapbooking collection, shown above, is $38 CAD on my website. It includes everything you see pictured.

If my gushing has inspired you, message me for a copy of the SE 1 catalog. If you’re not in my area, you can view it on my website at I promise you won’t be disappointed! If I haven’t gushed enough, stay tuned. I’ll share more products and artwork soon!

We Mermaid To Be Friends

How bright and sunshiny does this layout feel? It’s a lot like the afternoon we spent at rotary park with our bffs. Happiness is sunshine and kfc with our besties, am I right? 😉

I used CTMH Whimsy Fundamentals and it’s coordinating complements. I paired it all with our SOTM this month, A Little Bit of Pun.

I was able to look up my last order and discovered that (happily), it has been shipped and should be here on Friday. I honestly can’t wait to show you the new products! They’ll be available to you in just a few short weeks!

Until then, I may not have much to share with you. This is the last layout I have to share with you. I’ve been playing nurse to the twins for the last two weeks. The flu has hit us hard this year 😔 Even sadder, we’re missing our Christmas concert this year 😞😭 The twins are devastated. It’s today. Anyone else agree that while the warm weather is glorious, it’s a double edged sword? At this time of year, we can’t have the best of both worlds- if the weather remains warm, our babies will remain ill. I vote for miserable, cold weather to kill the viruses floating around. You in??
