CTMH Heat Embossing YouTube Vid

Hello friends!

I thought I’d share a quick heat embossing tutorial care of Close to My Heart if you’ve never encountered it before. It’s quite simple, and adds glossy accent to any piece you’re working on.

Why bring this up, you ask? Well, I created a layout yesterday that has some heat embossing in it. I shared it to a group on Facebook I’m in, and I was asked how it’s done! If you’re wondering, too, watch the video below.

Here’s the part of the layout that inspired this post:

You’ll also find this sneak peek, and others, in yesterday’s blog post.

If you’d like to try this technique yourself, you can find all the tools you’ll need right on my Close to My Heart website. That includes embossing powders, heat tool, and versamark ink. If you need help ordering them, comment below, otherwise head to my website here.

Do You Heat Emboss?

What’s something in your crafting that you haven’t done in a long time? For me, that’s heat embossing. I rarely do it, and I discovered that it’s long past time I ordered a new versa mark pad. The one I currently have is drying out. It’s got to be at least 8 or 10 years old. Possibly more.

Close to My Heart to the rescue! They have it, and carry a variety of Ranger embossing powders! (The versa mark ink is on my wish list for April).

I mention this because I heat embossed some elements on a layout I made today. I was thinking of ways to fill a space that felt too empty, and heat embossing popped into my brain. It was worth a shot, right? Here’s what I came up with:

The stamp I used is Showtime, the stamp set that comes with the Step Right Up paper packet. It’s still available- just a couple days left to get it, in fact. Want it? Head to my website. I’ll share the link at the bottom of this post.

Here’s a couple more close ups of this birthday themed layout:

Check out the heat embossing products we carry at Close to My Heart, or grab some Thin Cuts and the Step Right Up paper packet and stamp while you’re at it. These items are available for only a few more days; they’re all on my Close to My Heart website: theeverydayscrapbooker.closetomyheart.ca

April Card Blitz Creative Projects

I finished April’s card blitz today, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

I realized towards the end that I should throw a couple Mothers Day cards into the mix, since it’s in May! There’s also a mix of birthday, anniversary, wedding, thank you and get well cards.

I’m open for orders right now. If you’d like any one of these cards, or all of them, let me know. They’ll be shipped to you as a kit, along with easy to follow instructions. $25 CAD.

You’re invited to my card blitz on April 29 if you live in the Whitecourt area. It’ll be held at the Days Inn at 2 pm. Bring a friend and get your geek on! In 1.5 hours, make as many cards as you want. There will be a minimal amount of fussy cutting, the rest is already done for you! Scissors are provided, though you should bring your own adhesive. The cost of the blitz is $25.

Will I see you there? I hope so!

April Layout Blitz Creative Projects

The layouts for my blitz in April are complete!

One of them is Christmas themed! If you’re feeling festive, then this event is for you! The deadline for registering is April 7; the fun happens on April 14. $40 gets you these four 2-page layouts, plus I’ll throw in the two bonus single page layouts for $5 each, making your total $50 CAD.

If you can’t make it, no sweat. Just let me know. I’ll make up a kit for you, as long as you’re able to supply the base pages and can purchase the Stargazer stamp set. It’s available only until March 31, so get your orders in soon! I’ll cut and stamp most everything else for you. It costs the same as above, plus the cost of the stamp set if you need it. Find it on my website here.

I hope to see you or hear from you- I’d love to share this workshop and kit with you!

April Layout Blitz Bonus Projects

A new round of workshops begins in April, and I have the bonus layouts complete. Wanna see?

I scraplifted myself both times. Have a look!

You’ll have to excuse the photos in this layout. I meant to create it with photo mats first, then add the pictures once it was completed, but I often forget. Since they’re there, this layout is going into an album I’ve been commissioned to make. I’m trying to make things easier for myself by recycling projects. The top layout is going to be used as the creative project for an upcoming Home Gathering. In addition to being placed into the album I’m making, both these layouts are also bonus projects in my Layout Blitz scheduled for April 14.

Would you like to create these layouts yourself? They’re $5 CAD each, and I’m willing to create a kit for anyone that wants them. (You’ll need to purchase the Stargazer stamp set from my website for an additional fee. Available only until March 31, 2018). Everything else will be done for you. Comment below to reserve your own kit. (Must be a Canadian resident).

Stay tuned for the rest of my layout blitz projects! (And ways to purchase them).

April’s TEDS Events

TEDS, as in The Everyday Scrapbooker, as in CTMH 😉

Lots of events are coming up, and I thought I’d share them with you 😊

In April, I’ve got two public events to share with you: on Saturday, the 14th, I’m hosting a layout blitz. There will be four 2-page layouts to create- make one or all of them! The choice is yours! The cost is $40, and includes two single page bonus layouts for an additional charge. The blitz begins at 2 MST!

Then on the 29th, I’m hosting my card blitz. There’s 11 cards to choose between. In 1.5 hours, make what you’d like. That could be three cards, or all 11. You choose! The fee is $25. 2 pm the fun begins!

Both events will be held in the breakfast room at the Days Inn Whitecourt.

Now, I have a little secret to share with you. National Scrapbooking Day is coming up. It’s on May 5, the first Saturday in May. I’m planning a special event for NSD, and I’m hoping to make it a monthly event. Isn’t holding paper crafting events such a great idea for NSD?!

The event I’m planning? It’s a Day Crop! And, the best part is that there’s no registration fee!! Instead, place a small order of $30 on my Close to My Heart website, and that will count as your registration fee! There will be no workshops, either. Bring what you’d like to work on, and that’s all you’ll need. Supper will be provided. Join me from 11 am-11 pm Saturday May 5. It’ll be a great day!

As always, if you’re interested in hosting a Home Gathering, or would like to join my team (perhaps do both??), comment on this post or send me an email. I’d love to help you with both!

CTMH Step Right Up

Hi everyone! I’ve finally come up for air. I’ve been busy in the haven getting ready for workshops, and when I’m not in it…well, who am I kidding. I’m always in it!

I took some time this afternoon to play with Step Right Up. Have you heard of it? It’s March’s constant campaign at Close to My Heart. It is possible to purchase just the stamp, but why would you when you could get it along with 12 sheets of cardstock, gold pearls and red shimmer trim?!

It’s a really great deal. The nice thing about the cardstock is being able to make your own patterns- something you can’t do when patterned paper is given to you! I love the look of the harlequin stamp in the background. (It’s blue, Pacifica, by the way. I know it looks black in my photo. It’s not 😊)

What can you make with it? I’d love to see!

BOOM- it’s March!

March is here already! Time sure seems to fly. Having a shorter month like February sure doesn’t help things!

I’m excited to share this months’ constant campaign with you. It’s die-namite! Read on to find out why.

Save BIG on CTMH Thin Cuts and Thin Cut bundles this month. You’ll get:

– 25% off Thin Cuts dies

– 30% off Thin Cuts bundles (think stamp and coordinating Thin Cuts dies combined)

– FREE Thin Cuts when you join my team (go Everyday Scrappers!!)

– FREE Thin Cuts when you host a qualifying Play Date (party) during the month of March

Our Thin Cuts work with most die cutting machines (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc). Bonus!! Here’s some of my favorites:

Why are the Thin Cuts so great? They save you time- and sore fingers! Rather than stamping an image and cutting it out by hand- the “old fashioned” way, stamp the image then cut it out using the coordinating thin cut with your die cutting machine. It’s quick and so simple!

I shared with you just a few of the bundles and Thin Cuts that are on sale. There are quite a few more! To see them all, visit my website. You won’t regret it!

We’re starting the month off with a bang. Wouldn’t you agree?! This sale is only during the month of March (1-31, 2018). Grab them while they’re hot, because once they’re gone, they’re gone! (There’s even some retired stamps and Thin Cuts in there!) Say what?!

Run! Run, I tell you!

Visit my website to view all the Thin Cuts and Thin Cuts bundles on sale. Remember, when your order reaches $50 CAD, you qualify for the March Stamp of the month. (Details to come. Stay tuned). You’re getting a great deal! To make an order, or to join a wonderful team like the Everyday Scrappers, comment below. I’d love to chat with you! Purchases can also be made online at theeverydayscrapbooker.closetomyheart.ca
