February + CTMH I Heart Us

Have I really only posted twice this month? Oh, that’s no good. Luckily, I have a lot to share with you! I Heart Us has become an intense favourite of mine, and I wanted to share with you everything I’ve made with it. The best part is that I’ve only used half the paper packet. Yes, only half of it! I’m become quite the master of stretching my paper. You’ll see what I mean below.

Twelve projects, most of which are layouts. And, I’m not done yet! The month is not over- there’s still another week to go before I change gears and focus on CTMH So Much Happy. How much more can I create using it? I guess we’ll find out!

The two chipboard monograms that you saw in the photo above- those are for my daughters, who are celebrating their 9th birthday tomorrow! They’re going to love them- I hope! I’ll share another post about them in the near future. I enjoyed making them so much, that I’m looking for another excuse to order more! I want to make something for my craft haven, but I don’t know what yet. My name? My business name? A crafty phrase? (Create is out. I’ve got a beautiful sign that my BFF gave me for my birthday with that phrase on it.) Its got to be something else. FYI- they come in every letter of the alphabet, as well as all the numbers and some symbols. There’s a lot of options!

Each of the layouts above showcase different crafting techniques, such as Texture Paste, spritzing spray ink into the background, watercoloring using water color paints and ink (yes, its possible!!), colouring with shimmer pens and Shin Han markers, regular old stamping, and creating die cuts with the cricut. My projects have run the gamut this month! And, I keep returning to how much I love the vibrance and bright colors of I Heart Us. Its literally the best thing about this paper packet (especially the bold striped rainbow paper. I can’t get enough of it!)

Thanks for dropping in! See you again soon!

CTMH Has Ranger Texture Paste!

Have you been wondering what products I played with in yesterday’s post? Here I’ll give you the run down.

To start, I’m focusing on CTMH I Heart Us this month. Most, if not all, my artwork will primarily focus on that collection, or have guest appearances in the rest.

I generally stick to ordering the paper packet, which costs about $14 CAD, and the coordinating Complements (sticker sheets). They cost approximately $10 CAD. Then, depending what speaks to me, I’ll order either the card making stamp, the scrapbooking stamp, or both. See them all below.

It isn’t often I order both stamp sets, and when I do, it’s because I can see a use for them both. The scrapbook stamp set is $25 CAD, and the card stamp set is $20 CAD.

I’ve also been experimenting with Ranger Texture Paste. Did you know CTMH carries it now?! It’s new, and we love it! There’s three types to choose from- opaque matte, transparent matte and translucent gloss. In my recent artwork, I used the opaque matte paste.

The three different types of texture pastes are available in a three- pack, running you about $19 CAD; you can also purchase a slightly larger tub of the opaque matte paste- it’s $13 CAD. So, how do you apply it? You can purchase our Palette Knives (they come in a set of 4 different knives) for $9! That’s a fantastic price!

Lastly- and I do not have this yet- but, it is on my wish list, is our stencil sheets. Make your very own stencils using them! Think of all the options you’ve got with just one pack!

Soooo fabulous! I hope you try these items out. They’re easy to use, and there’s so many different ways to use them! To see some of them, join me over on Facebook- I’ll be sharing some tutorials in the near future over in my techniques group. You don’t want to miss out! Click this link to go there. See you soon!

CTMH I Heart Us

Good cold, blustery day! Are you staying warm? We’re trying. You should see the ice build up in my back door. It’s insane!

These last couple days, I’ve been playing. In my haven. As much as time will allow. My kids are home- they took two snow days- both of which were a godsend. One of the twins developed pink eye. Ugh. These last two days, they’ve been enjoying Teachers Convention. Is it Monday yet? I love my kids, but mama needs some peace and quiet!

I’ve been playing with February’s spotlighted paper collection: I Heart Us. I’ve also been playing with texture paste. Guys. This chick, who stays inside her comfort zone, was brave enough to venture outside it for once. And, since that fateful day, I’ve brought it out every time I sat to play since then. Want to see?

Look at all the colors! That’s my favourite thing about this collection. Next, is the mix of patterns! I’ve just barely touched the tip of the iceberg in terms of this collection, so stay tuned. More is coming!

See what I made using texture paste:

I used a mixture of new stamp sets, too! You’ll find C1752 Know That I Care, S1902 Heartfelt Sentiments and Z4264 Budding Peony Stamp & Thin Cuts set.

Texture Paste is so fun! There is no reason to be afraid of it. It’s easy to use and there’s lots of ways to use it. Stay tuned for that, too! I’ll be back with images of each of the products I used tomorrow.

Well, that’s all for me today. I’ve got cinnamon buns in the oven, and I’d still like to play a bit today. Thanks for joining me!
