Its Halloween Time Again

Hey hey! TGIF! I wanted to drop in today and share with you another layout I created using the Decorative Borders Thin Cut set. There’s so many great dies to choose from, its almost too hard to decide which one I’m going to use next!

The die I chose for the layout I’m sharing with you today was an easy one. Its a layout about Halloween, and I thought stitching was fitting- in a Tim Burton sort of way. Here, have a look!

CTMH Decorative Borders Thin Cuts

I can’t share the entire layout with you (actually a double page layout), because its got stuff in there that needs to stay under wraps for a couple more days. On April 1 I can share more with you! So, yes, in other words, its new product! Its also apparent I need to go back and erase the pencil line I made to ensure part of my title is straight. Its a good rule of thumb to use your straight edge ruler and pencil to mark out where your title will go. I use this technique simply to keep my titles straight. THere’s nothing that annoys me more in my own crafting than a crooked title. Drawing a line is so simple- but remember to erase it after you’re done! People will think you’re just that good if they don’t see a pencil line denoting it.

While playing with the dies yesterday, I came to realize that working slowly and deliberately with these particular dies is in your best interest. You’ll have the best results if you move meticulously and slowly, ensuring the cut is straight and even. Unless you’re aiming for an off-kilter cut, then by all means keep on trucking! Its inspired me to create a small tutorial walking you through how to use these particular dies. This won’t necessarily apply to our other dies because they tend to be shapes, not straight lines. Join me again next week (likely Monday) for a little Facebook Live in the techniques group to see how I keep my decorative borders looking their best! If you’re not part of my group there, you should join it! I share tutorials and tips as much as I can, and also host some workshops there, too. You are always welcome to craft along with me during the live videos! That means its interactive- I love it when people join in!

A new month is quickly barrelling towards us, so in the very near future I’ll be able to show you the new product that’s coming out, the layout I only gave you a peek of today, the specials that are coming up and what my focus will be with this next catalog. Speaking of new product, I am expecting my April order to arrive today. If its early enough, I will be doing my unboxing day live video over on my business page today (hopefully before 1- ideally before 3:30 this afternoon). If not, Monday will be the day. Are you following my business page on Facebook? Find me here. You should join- its the best place to stay up to date on my goings on with CTMH and my business 🙂

Lots of fun stuff is coming up in April. Join me again soon so I can catch you up on the good stuff!

Decorative Borders using CTMH Thin Cuts

Hey everyone! I’m switching gears and focusing on something different from Close to My Heart while I wait for my next order to arrive.

This particular item came with last months’ order, but I haven’t set aside time to play with it until now. This is an item I’ve wanted for some time. It carried over to this catalog (Seasonal Expressions 1)- which blew me away. I thought I’d missed ordering it, but I didn’t! Phew! You still have time to order it, too. One month to go!

Introducing CTMH Thin Cuts Decorative Borders. Look at all that border-y goodness! The third one from the bottom- it’s a fringe. Hello! I’m super excited about it! The cross-stitch border is super cute, too. I used it in a layout that I made today. Have a look!

So, I’m incredibly thankful I hung on to my Sorbet card stock rather than selling it when it retired. This paper was made for layouts of my daughters’ bedroom. It coordinates so well!

Can you see the sweet little X pattern in the border just below the photos? That’s how the cross-stitch die looks after you’ve ran it through your die cutting machine. I’m looking forward to trying out the other ones! I’m loving the notebook border, fringed border, the scallops…really, all of them!

CTMH thin cuts works with a variety of die cutting and embossing machines. Try it with your Sizzix, Big Shotz, and Cuttlebug. They all work! Also, make sure you use the B and C plates, as well as the base plate if you’re using a Cuttlebug. Join me tomorrow and I’ll walk you through the steps to die cutting with our Thin Cuts using the Cuttlebug. There is a secret to it!

Watch for more projects using this tool, as well!

Introducing CTMH SE2

Good afternoon, crafty friends! Its been busy the last few days, and some of it has been used to prepare for the upcoming launch of the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog, which goes live May 1! I spent the day with some of my team yesterday learning all about it. I’m so excited to introduce it to you!

But before I do, I just wanted to remind you that there’s one month left to order your favourite items from the current catalog, Seasonal Expressions 1. You have until April 30 to get all those must have items. Most of them are not rolling over to the new catalog, so I can’t stress enough how important it is to gather up all those items you’ve been eyeing and/or drooling over the last couple months. They’ll be retired, never to be seen again, after April 30!

Seasonal Expressions 2

Ta-da! Here is it! What do you think? Its simple but so sweetly colourful. The number 35 signifies the anniversary we’re celebrating this year. Close to My Heart has been bringing you quality, stunning products for a very long time (to it’s American markets), and here in Canada for an incredible 15 years. (We celebrated that anniversary this past November). This is a big year for Close to My Heart, and we’re going to be celebrating all year long! There have already been a lot of sales, promotions and special events in honour of this incredible milestone, and I’m certain there’ll be a lot more, too! We’re only getting started!

I can’t show you just yet what’s inside this little gem, but I guarantee you’ll be blown away. There’s some awesome new products that will make your life simpler, and will inspire your creativity. Some of it has inspired me to offer some different, online workshops using CTMH Story by Stacy, and you’re welcome to join me- especially if you’re new to scrapbooking and are not quite sure where to start or even how to start! Stay tuned, I’ll have more details in the near future!

Once again, I just wanted to reiterate that the current catalog has not retired yet, so there’s still time to pick up the things you’ve missed out on, or haven’t had the chance to order yet. April 30 is the deadline, don’t miss out! Some items have already sold out, so don’t wait too much longer! You can visit my website at teds.closetomyheart.ca, or comment on the post below and I’ll help you order the items you’d like/need. Available only to Canadian residents, sorry. If you’re living in Australia/New Zealand, or anywhere in the USA, I can help you find a fantastic consultant living nearest you.

Thanks for joining me today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

So Much Happy Artwork

Good afternoon! I have some layouts to share with you that I created using So Much Happy. Enjoy!

So Much Happy & This Happened

So Much Happy

So Much Happy

So Much Happy

I tried using a mixture of products from within the paper packet and card stock packet, so you’ll see the puffy stickers, Complements, stamping, cut- away paper, and the oh-so-fun sticker alphas. They are my absolute favourite, and I hope CTMH brings them back in future collections. I just love using them, especially where my titles are concerned. I love the interest and variety it adds, especially when fonts are mixed. Its such a nice change from using the Cricut all the time. I use it the most to create my titles. I like to spice things up! Stamping my titles is a nice change, too.

I hope you find inspiration to craft some today. If not, enjoy the beautiful weather we’re having!

CTMH March Promotions

Good morning, friends! There’s some fantastic promotions happening this month, and I’m really excited to share them with you! Of course, you already know about So Much Happy and the Stamp of the Month. But, there’s also a fantastic chipboard workshop that’s available to purchase, as well as an amazing sale on CTMH Picture My Life cards.

What are Picture My Life cards? They are the same as your Project Life cards, only they’re Close to My Hearts’ version of them. They are double sided, come in 3×4 and 4×6 sizes (in both vertical and horizontal orientations), and coordinate with all our current paper collections, as well. Each of the cards inside the package is different, which is great for taking your crafting to the next level. This sale is available while supplies last, so hurry and order yours before its too late!

Picture My Life card Sale

The chipboard workshop looks amazing, too. Use the So Much Happy collection to dress up the chipboard word home and put it on display where everyone can see it. It comes as a kit, and includes 6 sheets of patterned paper from the So Much Happy collection, 5 sheets of coordinating card stock, three chipboard monograms (H, M, E), and the coordinating puffy stickers- all for just $37!

Just a note, though: you must have a Cricut and the Cricut Artistry collection (unique to CTMH) in order to complete the workshop. If you don’t have the Artistry collection, I can help you order it, as well! The chipboard Home workshop is available until the end of April, but don’t wait too long to order yours! They’re selling like hot cakes!

Home Chipboard workshop

Did I tell you about the BOGO event thats happing this month? I better share that with you, too! This is the perfect month for stocking up on your patterned papers and card stock at Close to My Heart. When you purchase one current paper packet or coordinating card stock, you’ll get the second one at 50% off! What a great deal! That includes Something Fierce, I Heart Us, So Much Happy, and Feels Like Home.

Save on paper during the month of March! Buy one card stock or coordinating card stock packet, and get the second half off!

Thanks for joining me today. I’m hoping to have some more artwork to share with you when I pop in here next. I hope you had a terrific weekend!

March CTMH Stamp of the Month

Good morning! I wanted to share with you the artwork I’ve made thus far with CTMH So Much Happy. Some of the layouts also sport March’s stamp of the month, S1903 This Happened. Here’s a peek at it:

The picture above says the stamp set retails for $25 CAD. There is a way to save HUGE on it. Did you know that? When you shop my website, and your total reaches $50 before shipping charges is added, you’ll qualify to add this gem to your cart for only $6! It’s another way we say thank you for shopping with CTMH. (You’ll find that this company is uber generous with sales, giveaways, incentives and more!) Hang out with me awhile, and you’ll see 😊 There’s another blog post coming with the rest of the sales and perks that’s going on this month. Stay tuned- you’ll find it all right here!

Now- for some artwork!

Don’t forget, S1903 This Happened is only available until the end of the month, before it’s replaced with a whole new stamp set in April! So Much Happy is also available until the end of April, then its being retired, too. Don’t miss out! If you’d like either of these (or anything else), let me know. I’m placing a bulk order tomorrow morning at 10 am. If you add to it, you’ll save on shipping. Score! Who doesn’t love to save?! Comment on this post or message me to add to it! (Must be a Canadian resident, sorry).

CTMH So Much Happy

Good morning, fellow crafters! Its a new month, therefore there’s new projects to share with you! This month, I’m focusing on CTMH So Much Happy. Its full of fun geometric patterns, great colors, cut away paper, puffy stickers and more! Have a peek at the collection below. Everything in the picture below is what you’ll find in the workshop- except for a stamp set. (I’ve also included the price for reference).

So Much Happy Workshop Your Way

Doesn’t it look great?! If you noticed the little message in red that says download guide, that will be available to you absolutely FREE when you purchase the workshop! I think that’s so awesome. Think of it as a little thank you for making an order from my website. You may have noticed there’s no stamp set pictured. You would be right. The stamp set is available to purchase separately, if thats your thing. If not, then you’re all set!

If cards are more your speed, then we’ve got you covered, as well. Here’s a peek at the card making workshop. In this workshop, you’ll also be able to download the guide for free; unlike the scrapbooking workshop, an exclusive stamp set is included with your workshop. Yay! Included in it is all the materials you’ll need to create 9 cards following three different patterns. They’re all stunning and easy to create!

Choose to Shine Cardmaking Workshop

There is a coordinating stamp set (another one!!) that can be purchased along with the card making workshop. I also mentioned above that the scrapbooking workshop has one, too. Here they are:

So Much Happy Cardmaking Stamp Set
So Much Happy Scrapbooking Stamp Set

Don’t get hung up on the ‘scrapbooking’ and ‘card making’ phrases that are associated with these stamp sets. They are flexible enough to be used in whatever project you’re working on, whether its home decor, a gift, scrapbook layout or card (or otherwise!) They are there as suggestions, and they’re definitely not set in stone. When I make my order every month, I always ask myself which stamp set I would be more likely to use, and which I would likely get the most use out of. Then, I purchase that one, only. There is the odd time that I can’t choose between the two, so I get them both! Purchasing the workshops are great because they take the guesswork out of your creating- they’ve got guides all ready for you to use, so there’s no Pinterest- surfing before you create. They’re also great because they include everything within the collection in one tidy bundle. That way you’re not surfing my website looking for the puffy stickers, washi tape, or coordinating card stock. Its all right there. The best part is you’ll always have left over paper and embellishments, so you can use them elsewhere, too!

How long is this collection available for? Even though I am focusing on this collection only during the month of March, that doesn’t mean its only available this month. You actually have until the end of April to purchase this paper- and any other current collection! May 1 there will be a new catalog and new goodies to drool over and purchase. Are you ready for it?! We’re barrelling towards April. It’ll be here before we even know it, so don’t waste time. Get it while its hot!

I’ll be back again soon with some samples of So Much Happy in action. I hope you’ll join me again!
