Simply Wonderful

Hello my friends! It’s so cold this week, I’m not leaving the house unless it’s absolutely necessary. I brought my kids to school on Monday, since aren’t running, but I kept them home yesterday. Hopefully today is warm enough to at least drive them to school. They just had 2.5 weeks off for Christmas and a short road trip to visit their grandparents. Now it’s time to go to school!

Maybe a little scrappy artyness will help warm your day up? I’m staying cozy crafting while Mother Nature sorts her issues out 🤣

I had one picture leftover from the layout I made yesterday (find that post here:; but, the orientation was wrong, so I saved it for its own layout. I was feeling the need to create a title that’s not 100% stamped or die cut, so I dumpster dove and found this chipboard deep in my stash.

I began by marking the die cut tag in pencil on my layout, then water coloured using the packing technique with CTMH Ballerina re-inker. When it was dry, I stamped the floral image over both spots. I also added some stamping to the background. Please note that watercolour paper was used for the layout base, trimmed to 8.5×11 inches.

On the tag, I applied texture paste through a hexagon stencil, then sprayed Saffron ink with a spray pen. It was cut from White Card stock on my Cricut, roughly 7.5×3.25 inches in size. I layered the photo over it (which is matted on white card stock, and glued the chipboard title overtop, on the bottom. One side of the chipboard is adhered with foam squares, so it’s the same height as the photo. (The photo was adhered with foam squares).

I added some thread, stamped, coloured and fussy cut floral embellishments, and the date to complete this pretty little layout. I hope you find this layout inspiring, and it encourages you to give 8.5×11 layouts, or texture paste, or minimalistic designs- whatever the case is- a try! See you next time!
