Its May! (Soon, anyways)

Good morning crafty friends! What a busy week we had! I hosted another successful Scrap Your Stash event- the next one is coming up in a couple of weeks, and then we celebrated my husbands’ birthday and Easter. We spent a day at home, a day with my father in law, and a day with my parents. What did you do for Easter? I even found some time to create an Easter layout amidst the planning and creating I’m doing to prepare for Crafturday- which is just two short weeks away. Are you coming?!

If you do plan to attend Crafturday, registration is here! The last day to reserve your spot is Friday, April 26. Its just $25, so if you’re not doing anything on May 4, consider coming out and get your craft on! Join the dark side- we’ve got food, fun and more! There will be artwork samples on display with new product, so come on out and check it out! As well, I’ll have my own supplies on hand for you to use, a small selection of product and handmade goodness to purchase, refreshments and loads of inspiration! Its going to be a relaxing, fantastic day.

Since you’re reading this, you’re in for a surprise. You get a sneak peek of the artwork I’ll have on display at Crafturday. Aren’t you lucky? 😉

Everyone that arrives at Crafturday will receive their own thank you gift, complete with a sweet 3×3 inch greeting card, a layout (with a technique demo) they are free to complete at the day crop, and other goodies. Those will be a surprise. (I actually need to figure out what those are going to be. Lets be honest, I need to get my poop in a group!)

Feels Like Home
The World is Yours
The World is Yours

With the exception of Feels Like Home, everything seen here is absolutely new product, and will be showcased at Crafturday on May 4. I created all these layouts using inspiration from the Seasonal 1 catalog, workshop instructions, and Pinterest. Inspiration can come from anywhere! Did you know there’s only one week left to order from SE1? Everything from it retires on April 31. May 1 Seasonal Expressions 2 goes live, and all the product in it. Not much (read everything is expiring, except 1 or 2 items). If there’s anything you missed, or don’t want to miss out on, get your orders in now. Once the new catalog goes live, the Feels Like Home artwork will be available for purchase. Comment below or message me for more details.

Did you notice the card hidden amongst the layouts above? That card, and others like it, will be part of a small card buffet that’ll be available to participate in at my Crafturday day crop. Make as many cards as you like for $2 a piece. Its totally optional; have fun with the day!

So, since May is right around the corner, here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming up next month. I’ll share more details next week (that includes The World is Yours, too).

Story Starter- Story by Stacy
May Stamp of the Month

Are you part of my Try it Out Techniques group? If not, you may want to consider joining. We explore new crafting techniques together, and starting in May we’re going to explore the Story by Stacy range. I have not ordered my workshop kit yet, so the date we’ll commence the workshop is yet to be determined. Here’s how its going to work: once a week, we’ll meet via Facebook Live to assemble the mini album together. Each person that participates will need to purchase the album kit (its $19.50) and the coordinating stamp set (which is $24.75); they’ll also need ten to fifteen 4×4 pictures of a special woman in their life- their mom, grandmother, aunt, or a male figure that filled the role of mom in their lives). Save on shipping, and add your workshop kit to my order! If you’re local to Whitecourt, I’ll deliver! Bulk order goes in April 30.

Mother’s day is quickly approaching. This would be a sweet memento to give to that special lady in your life, or a special way to pay homage to her. If you’re new to scrapbooking, this would especially be a workshop you should look in to. The Story by Stacy workshops were designed with you in mind, teaching you step by step, in its most simplified form, the art of scrapbooking. Each instalment in her collection of workshops broadens the scope just a little bit more, so eventually you’ll confidently and easily be able to create stunning and interactive scrapbooks that you can be proud of. If this sounds interesting to you, join me here.

Lastly is the new stamp of the month! (See above). The two girls and the balloons are the most popular icons in that stamp set; did you know that? All the artwork I’ve been privy to seeing all showcase the two girls. Its perfect for any pick-me-upper your gal pals need. The scallop border stamp is super adorbs, too. I can’t wait to play with it! Don’t forget, if you purchase this stamp set from me, I’ll mail three handmade cards as a thank you, absolutely free! When you place an order of $50 or more, the stamp set drops to $6. That’s a savings of over 70%! Its regularly $24.75. Place an order any time, but this stamp of the month is not available until May 1. Until then, the current stamp of the month is available (with the same fantastic deal, as well!)

Thanks for sticking with me for this long. I know this post is another novel, but I hope you found something inspirational in it! See you again soon.

November Card Workshop

Have I shared with you November’s card workshop yet? No?

This workshop is all about Christmas, and I enjoyed creating cards for it so much that I decided to carry it over to December’s workshop too!

Have a look at what we’ll be creating:

The last two cards, as well as the card with the die cut stocking tag, were all created using the super cute and happy Oh What Fun! papers from CTMH. I liked this collection so much that my personal Christmas cards are going to be replicas of those last two cards. Combined with that super sweet Ugly Christmas Sweater stamp set, and my heart is smiling.

What do you think?! Aren’t they so fun?! Here’s the workshop details:

Whitecourt Days Inn

November 18 @ 1-1:45 pm

Please remember to bring scissors, adhesive, pencil, journaling pen, and straight edge ruler. You may need them for your cards. Everything else is provided, should you need them. As always, please do not bring extra supplies home with you to create at a later time.

I hope to see you there! The registration deadline is November 1!

It’s Done!

Friends, I got it done! I’m so happy to introduce- in its entirety- October’s card blitz! Have a look!

Aren’t they so cute?! The deadline to register is coming up on October 1! Don’t miss out! If you can’t physically come to the blitz, that’s ok. Reserve a kit for yourself, instead! If I can drive it to you, I will. If not, shipping charges will be added to the total.

Here’s the fine details:

If you’re in the area, join us on October 20 at the Days Inn Whitecourt from 1 pm to 1:45 pm. All the materials are supplied, but you should bring a pencil, straight edge ruler, scissors, adhesive and a journaling pen. You may need them. Extra adhesive will be available to purchase if you run out. Cash, cheque or etransfer works. (See the email below).

If you’re not in the area, but would still like this kit, please send your payment via etransfer to theeverydayscrapbooker@gmail.com. Cash or cheque is also acceptable. Expect to do a bit of fussy cutting when your kit arrives; everything else will be stamped, measured and cut for you. You’ll receive enough materials to create one each of 12 different cards. Envelopes are also included!

If you’re ordering a kit, instructions will be provided upon your registration. (The easiest way to get it is by joining this group on Facebook. I’m the admin there, too, by the way. Just so you don’t think I’m sending you to some random Facebook group!) If you’re not on Facebook, I can send the instructions to you via email in PDF format. (Includes pictures and directions to assemble!)

The registration fee ($30) covers the materials we’re using to create all 12 cards; no other purchase is necessary. The fee is the same whether you’re coming on the 20th or you require a kit instead. When you register, just let me know what works best for you!

October Card Blitz Sneak Peek

Hello friends! I know it’s been awhile since I posted, but I’m excited to tel you that I’ve got some new cards to share with you!

I have to admit that since my craft room was torn apart to deal with a leaky pipe, I’ve been struggling in the inspiration and motivation department. I miss being in the space that’s devoted to my craft, even though I’m loving sitting in my bright and sunshiny dining room. If I could transplant it into my craft room, I’d be so happy!

But, it isn’t, so I’ll continue enjoying sitting at my sunshiny (only when it’s sunshiny, though) kitchen table, and hate putting it all in one corner of the dining room until the next play date.

So, I have a new card blitz coming up on October 20 in Whitecourt. As always, if you’re too far away, or already have plans for the 20th, kits are available as well. The cost is $30 + shipping (if it’s required). This blitz is still in the works, but see below what’s already done.

If you like them, come out and make them! Or order a kit to go! Registration/kit fee is $30 and it includes all the materials you’ll need to create these sweet and simple cards. If you come to the blitz, some stamping and fussy cutting needs to be done in addition to assembling them. If you order the kit, just a bit of fussy cut needs to be done.

If you’d like to come, please rsvp by October 1, 2018, so I have time to prep!

What’s Up at TEDS?!

It’s time to share some news with you!

Here’s what’s on the schedule this week, and for the remainder of the month. Ready?

First, join me for my first ever virtual techniques class! We’re discussing inking and we’ll be making a simple card using this technique. Later in August, on the 21, well apply our knowledge to a layout, and attempt inking on things other than straight lines (such as a punched border). We’ll also discuss storage ideas and when it’s time to replace your sponge dauber. What is a sponge dauber? Find out at tomorrow’s virtual class!

That’s right, my first virtual class it at 11 am MST tomorrow (Monday, August 6). It’s posted to my techniques group on Facebook, so you’ll have to be active on FB, and request admission to the group itself. Links will be found at the bottom of this post.

Secondly, I have a simple challenge going on my Facebook business page right now! You must love paper crafting, paper crafting challenges and winning free CTMH swag. Available only to North American participants. (Canada and the US of A). For your chance to win some fab CTMH products from me, like my business page, then hunt down the pinned post at the top of the page. Share your finished projects using your scrap papers, embellishments, fibres…whatever you’ve got lying around. September 4, 2018 is the deadline to enter; two winners will be announced on the 5th. Come and play!

Lastly, I have two additional events taking place in September- Hostess Rewards Club in the 8th, and card blitz on the 22. You’re welcome to join both! Both events have been shared in previous posts, but in case you missed it, here’s the important details:

Hostess Rewards Club September 8 from 1-5 pm at the Days Inn Whitecourt. Join me monthly, and create 2-3 double page layouts every month. By the end of the year (May), you’ll have a completed album! The best part? Earn free ctmh products in your hostess month. Each guest will take turns playing hostess. If it sounds like fun, RSVP!

On September 22, from 1-1:45 (same location) set aside time to get a jump start on your greeting cards. Make as many as you can in 45 minutes, but please do not take home any of the supplies. There are 10 cards to choose from and create for yourself. The cutting and stamping is done; you get to color, watercolour fussy cut and assemble! Easy peasy!

So. Which event(S) would you like to attend? Choose one or choose all! Find the links below:

September Card Blitz

Hello friends!

I’m so excited to share September’s card blitz with you! I got them completed this morning- just in enough time for my husband to arrive home with my new dishwasher. Hooking it up has taken the afternoon, so far! Good times!

Did you see the little furry paw in the bottom right corner of my photo? Miss Ava wanted to help me snap a photo of my cards. She’s so helpful 😃

Some of the cards came from my CTMH website (inspo can come from anywhere), so if they look familiar to you, that would be why!

There’s a mix of techniques amongst these cards. There’s some inking, colouring and water colouring, and even some doodling. (The simplest version of doodling- drawing straight lines). So, if you’ve got them, bring your journaling pens and straight edge rulers to my card blitz. The fun starts on September 22, from 1-1:45 pm at the Days Inn. Make as many cards as you can in that period of time.

I’d love for you to join us! This year is going to be amazing- even better than last year (and last year was fantastic!!) Comment on this post if you plan to come; if not, no sweat! I also make card kits for my long distance customers! Everything will be stamped, coloured and water coloured for you. Your job will be to fussy cut images out, glue pieces to the card bases and doodle! Easy peasy. If you’d like one of my kits, all you have to do is comment! PayPal and E-transfer are acceptable methods of payment. I’ll ship anywhere, as long as you’re comfortable paying postage! So, what do you say? Jump on board. We’re missing you!

June CTMH Card Blitz- Full Preview!

Hi!

I’ve got the full preview of June’s card blitz ready to go! I’d love to share them with you!

I think some close ups are in order too, don’t you?

If you’re local to Whitecourt, you are more than welcome to join us! This will be my last card blitz until school resumes in the fall. Then, you’ve got to come back! If you commit and pre-pay for September-November’s card blitzes, you’ll get December’s blitz free! That’s such a great deal!

If you live outside Whitecourt, you’re welcome to purchase a kit, as well. I have long distance customers, too, and I’m all about sharing the love with you. Want a kit? Just message me!

Better yet, if you’re in Fox Creek or the surrounding area, I’m bringing this blitz right to your doorstep! I’ll be hosting June’s card blitz at the community centre on the 16th. Mark your calendars! There’s not much time to reserve your spot! I must have 5 participants in order to do this blitz. Please come!!

June CTMH Card Blitz

How is everyone doing? I’m just over here, prepping for my last card blitz of the year, and a last minute crop. If you’re in the area this Saturday (the 2nd) or June 23, join me!

Here’s what’s up for my card blitz, so far.

I finally used our stamp of the month! I should have used it weeks ago, but there were other things on the go. I’m glad there’s still today and tomorrow left to snag it. So, if you like what you see, order it up! It’s just $6 when you make a $50 order. Saving rocks! This offer ends at 11:59 pm tomorrow evening (MST). (The SOTM cards are the two yellow ones near the end, FYI). There’s just a few cards there 😉 I don’t want to confuse anyone, that wouldn’t be good!

I still have a few more cards to make for this blitz, including some Fathers’ Day cards! And, you know what the greatest news ever is?!

I’ve been invited to share my upcoming card blitz with the community facilitator in Fox Creek! If you’re in the area, stay tuned for the dates. I’d love to have you join us! I’ll need 5 people committed to coming otherwise it won’t happen! Dates will be announced shortly, so stay tuned! (Facebook might be best, just in case I don’t make it back here to share with you).

Where am I on Facebook? Here!

FYI- I have another one in Fox Creek scheduled for this Fall, too. You’ll definitely want to watch for more info on that! It’ll be a lot of fun! And, as always, kits are available to long distance customers. Can’t make it? No sweat! Order a kit to complete on your own, instead!

On a side note, if you’d like to experience your own incredible opportunities, give me a shout. I’d love to help you reach that goal! It’s really easy to do, I promise!

April Card Blitz Creative Projects

I finished April’s card blitz today, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

I realized towards the end that I should throw a couple Mothers Day cards into the mix, since it’s in May! There’s also a mix of birthday, anniversary, wedding, thank you and get well cards.

I’m open for orders right now. If you’d like any one of these cards, or all of them, let me know. They’ll be shipped to you as a kit, along with easy to follow instructions. $25 CAD.

You’re invited to my card blitz on April 29 if you live in the Whitecourt area. It’ll be held at the Days Inn at 2 pm. Bring a friend and get your geek on! In 1.5 hours, make as many cards as you want. There will be a minimal amount of fussy cutting, the rest is already done for you! Scissors are provided, though you should bring your own adhesive. The cost of the blitz is $25.

Will I see you there? I hope so!

April’s TEDS Events

TEDS, as in The Everyday Scrapbooker, as in CTMH 😉

Lots of events are coming up, and I thought I’d share them with you 😊

In April, I’ve got two public events to share with you: on Saturday, the 14th, I’m hosting a layout blitz. There will be four 2-page layouts to create- make one or all of them! The choice is yours! The cost is $40, and includes two single page bonus layouts for an additional charge. The blitz begins at 2 MST!

Then on the 29th, I’m hosting my card blitz. There’s 11 cards to choose between. In 1.5 hours, make what you’d like. That could be three cards, or all 11. You choose! The fee is $25. 2 pm the fun begins!

Both events will be held in the breakfast room at the Days Inn Whitecourt.

Now, I have a little secret to share with you. National Scrapbooking Day is coming up. It’s on May 5, the first Saturday in May. I’m planning a special event for NSD, and I’m hoping to make it a monthly event. Isn’t holding paper crafting events such a great idea for NSD?!

The event I’m planning? It’s a Day Crop! And, the best part is that there’s no registration fee!! Instead, place a small order of $30 on my Close to My Heart website, and that will count as your registration fee! There will be no workshops, either. Bring what you’d like to work on, and that’s all you’ll need. Supper will be provided. Join me from 11 am-11 pm Saturday May 5. It’ll be a great day!

As always, if you’re interested in hosting a Home Gathering, or would like to join my team (perhaps do both??), comment on this post or send me an email. I’d love to help you with both!
