It’s A Circus

Friends! Happy Saturday!

I have a new layout to share with you today. I made it for myself. NOT for a workshop. How great is that?! πŸ˜ƒ

My life is a circus these days. I’m sure some of you can relate. 😳

At least this circus is one that everyone would look forward to. It came to town a few years back. We watched as they set up their tents- it was a great way to build anticipation and excitement. When the day finally came for us to go see it, we were nearly bursting at the seams. It was a lot of fun. One day we’ll make it back 😊

I used some Stargazer to create this spread, and paired some Beary Christmas and poppy cardstock with it. It looks great together! The ticket and title located inside it, and the sweet little elephant, were all cut with my Cricut. It’s saved to my Cricut, but is not set to public. It could be…if anyone wants to create this layout, too! Comment below πŸ˜‰

Out of This World

Happy Wednesday. How did we get here so quickly? A minute ago it was Monday! I’m currently working on another project, but wanted to take a quick break to show you my latest layout.

How cute is this paper?! It’s called Stargazer, and it’s perfect for all your astronomy lovers, boys and science geeks! (My daughter is one of them). I tried tying horses and space together…how did I do? πŸ˜‚

This was their first experience riding a horse, and I’m sure they’d tell you it was out of this world. Their minds were blown, and frequently ask when they can go again.

This is project two in my layout buffet. Stay tuned to see more. More is coming!

Seasonal Expressions 1 Layout Buffet

Hi friends, I have a bit more to share today about a new workshop I’m organizing.

Coming up in March- the 14th from 5-8 pm, to be exact- I will be hosting my very first layout buffet! From my (limited) experience, this type of workshop is fairly new and considered “uncharted territory” by a lot of consultants. I’m excited to try it out, and I’m excited my customers are willing to experiment with me!

There are 4 double page layouts we will tackle, challenging ourselves to complete them in the 3 hour time limit. There will also be two bonus single page layout kits available for purchase, for $5 each. The fee for the buffet itself is $40. All the materials will be pre-stamped and pre-cut; everything will be supplied. Bring along your tape runner, if you have one, and just assemble!

Here’s how I envision it’ll work: to simplify the process for everyone, printed and illustrated instructions will be found for each layout spread at each of their respective stations. The sample I made will be displayed as well, with my pictures attached for a good visual. The samples are also posted right to the event page on Facebook- with and without my photos.

The bonus layouts will also have instructions included- for free. They will be displayed along with my sample double page layouts.

I’m currently still working on the projects we’ll create in this workshop, and I’ll share the rest here as I complete them. Here’s what I’ve created up to this point:

Project #1 with and without pictures

Bonus single page layout #1

I’m so excited about sharing these projects, I can’t remember what else I needed to share with you! Well, if I think of it, I guess you’ll be hearing from me again rather soon!

January SOTM Bloom & Grow

Hello friends. Today, I’m sharing a layout I made using the all new Chelsea Gardens paper. This layout actually lay on my desk for a couple days…what I had originally planned to use didn’t jive. I swapped out the Pebble background with White Daisy cardstock, and replaced the light blue (recollections) cardstock with Chelsea Gardens.

Then I realized that January’s SOTM, Bloom & Grow, would look awesome layered next to the picture of my mom and sister. I used Sweet Leaf, Glacier and Whisper inks to create the journaling spot.

Remember, this collection and the SOTM are available beginning January 1, 2018.

We Mermaid To Be Friends

How bright and sunshiny does this layout feel? It’s a lot like the afternoon we spent at rotary park with our bffs. Happiness is sunshine and kfc with our besties, am I right? πŸ˜‰

I used CTMH Whimsy Fundamentals and it’s coordinating complements. I paired it all with our SOTM this month, A Little Bit of Pun.

I was able to look up my last order and discovered that (happily), it has been shipped and should be here on Friday. I honestly can’t wait to show you the new products! They’ll be available to you in just a few short weeks!

Until then, I may not have much to share with you. This is the last layout I have to share with you. I’ve been playing nurse to the twins for the last two weeks. The flu has hit us hard this year πŸ˜” Even sadder, we’re missing our Christmas concert this year 😞😭 The twins are devastated. It’s today. Anyone else agree that while the warm weather is glorious, it’s a double edged sword? At this time of year, we can’t have the best of both worlds- if the weather remains warm, our babies will remain ill. I vote for miserable, cold weather to kill the viruses floating around. You in??

CTMH Bashful Together

How pretty is Pebble and Bashful together? I added some navy 8.5×11 cardstock I had in my stash (the last sheet I’d been hoarding) for an extra splash of colour. It’s very elegant, isn’t it?

The title was cut using my Cricut, a photo mat was embossed using the CTMH rose embossing folder and I finished off with pink extra thick twine and embellishments from the Stronger Together and Happy Moments (if I remember correctly!) Complements. The Cricut die cut is my absolute favourite. I typically type my titles, so I really liked that the image was already made for me. I like even more that it’s not my typical linear style, either. That small change is refreshing to me.

(And, the only reason I type them is because there’s no image for what I am looking for! I’m getting to the point where I’m going to start purchasing the ones I want.) 😊

CTMH Art Philosophy

I have one more Halloween layout to share. I try to get into the festive spirit and dress up along with my kids. Sometimes what I envision doesn’t work out (like this year), and other times, my costume remains undecided until the last minute.

I came up with the smartie pants idea as kids were walking up to my door. I inhaled a party size box of smarties and pinned them to my pants. If I’d had my glasses as this point, I’d have taped the bridge too. I didn’t get them until later, though.

This is another layout that parted ways with CTMH. Slightly. The cardstocks are both CTMH, but the patterned paper came from another company. SU, I think? I’m not certain anymore.

I typically always cut my layout titles using CTMH art philosophy (Cricut). The glasses are another Cricut cut.

Using CTMH Zip Strips

I’m sure I’ve covered this topic before, but a refresher never hurts.

Need a way to use up that stash of zip strips? Arrange them in a pattern on your page then place your photos next to them. Layer your title and embellishments overtop, and you’re finished!

CTMH Products are Versatile

I used some of our new cardstock on this layout, and I just realized I should create a project to show you just how versatile it is! If you remember, our card stock now comes in two shades, right in one sheet! One side is slightly darker than the reverse side. Unfortunately here, I did not use both sides of the sheet. I’ve made a mental note to do that in the near future.

To highlight the fact my children were shopping for glasses in this layout, I cut a couple glasses out using my Cricut. I filled in the lens portion of the glasses with my Liquid Glass, and added some Bitty Sparkles for a bit of bling. The bottom portion of the layout was matted with Whisper card stock. I cut the title from Poppy cardstock and adhered using liquid glass. (Our liquid glass is very versatile, too!) The hearts are puffy stickers that retired long ago.

Speaking of retiring products, there’s just over one month left to enjoy the goodies in our current Holiday Expressions catalog. Come January, a new Holiday Expressions will grace us with its presence. Head over to my website in the near future (or now!) to stock up on the current products in this catalog. I’ll be placing my December order within the first couple days of the month. If you’d like to add to it, please let me know! I’m looking forward to all the new goodies to drool over in the New Year!
