Sparkle- Gimme Some Sugar

I am not usually a scrapbooker that uses PML (also known as Project Life in other circles) cards in my artwork. I had a change of heart towards them recently, and the layout above is proof of that.

Believe it or not, I used two PML cards on this layout. One is a 3×4 card, and the other was a 4×6 inch card. The floral portion of the card inspired me. I thought it would look stunning on its own, so I fussy cut it out and layered it over the 3×4 PML card with some pop dots.

I think the colour combination is spot on- the colours of the flowers pop right off that dark (pewter, is it??) background. Pairing that with the bashful patterned paper from the coordinating paper packet (Gimme Some Sugar), and it’s a delightful match made in heaven.

Dark and light is perfectly balanced in this layout, too. And, it all stemmed from that 4×6 inch PML card! Unfortunately, Gimme Some Sugar has retired. But, did you know that each of our paper packets always includes two sheets of journaling cards?

They do! You don’t need to search my website for a particular PML card set, just search up your favourite current collection and treat yourself to the paper packet! They’re already included in a cut apart sheet!

Unless you strictly scrapbook with PML. Then by all means, purchase the coordinating, stand alone PML cards! It’s a win-win scenario for all paper crafters!

So, don’t fret. I will strive to create using PML cards more often in the future. This was a fun exercise in stretching my creative skills. It’s also a great way to inspire participation in my upcoming Try it Out Tuesday segment that is coming soon.

Try it Out Tuesday? Think Technique Tuesday, but with a TEDS CTMH spin on it. It is geared specifically to those that are new to scrapbooking and are motivated to learn more. I’ll share scrapbooking basics, define foreign paper crafting terms, tackle a variety of stamping and paper crafting techniques and share tips, tricks and more! I’ve created a group that’s linked to my FB VIP group page just for this occasion! I just need to make one vital purchase, and this segment will get off the ground! Will you join me? Message me below, and I’ll get you added to the group ASAP!

June CTMH Card Blitz

How is everyone doing? I’m just over here, prepping for my last card blitz of the year, and a last minute crop. If you’re in the area this Saturday (the 2nd) or June 23, join me!

Here’s what’s up for my card blitz, so far.

I finally used our stamp of the month! I should have used it weeks ago, but there were other things on the go. I’m glad there’s still today and tomorrow left to snag it. So, if you like what you see, order it up! It’s just $6 when you make a $50 order. Saving rocks! This offer ends at 11:59 pm tomorrow evening (MST). (The SOTM cards are the two yellow ones near the end, FYI). There’s just a few cards there πŸ˜‰ I don’t want to confuse anyone, that wouldn’t be good!

I still have a few more cards to make for this blitz, including some Fathers’ Day cards! And, you know what the greatest news ever is?!

I’ve been invited to share my upcoming card blitz with the community facilitator in Fox Creek! If you’re in the area, stay tuned for the dates. I’d love to have you join us! I’ll need 5 people committed to coming otherwise it won’t happen! Dates will be announced shortly, so stay tuned! (Facebook might be best, just in case I don’t make it back here to share with you).

Where am I on Facebook? Here!

FYI- I have another one in Fox Creek scheduled for this Fall, too. You’ll definitely want to watch for more info on that! It’ll be a lot of fun! And, as always, kits are available to long distance customers. Can’t make it? No sweat! Order a kit to complete on your own, instead!

On a side note, if you’d like to experience your own incredible opportunities, give me a shout. I’d love to help you reach that goal! It’s really easy to do, I promise!

More CTMH Postcard Perfect

I played with Postcard Perfect some more today!

Look at all those bright and warm colours, and that stunning vellum! And, as I said before, I’ll be hoarding this paper. I just love it too much.

In the top layout, I used one of the icons from the cut apart sheet of paper. It just jumps off the page!

This paper collection is coming to you next week! Yes, next week already! April has just flown by, and I’m super excited to share all May has in store for us! Keep coming back here- right here– to learn more!

April Card Blitz Creative Projects

I finished April’s card blitz today, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

I realized towards the end that I should throw a couple Mothers Day cards into the mix, since it’s in May! There’s also a mix of birthday, anniversary, wedding, thank you and get well cards.

I’m open for orders right now. If you’d like any one of these cards, or all of them, let me know. They’ll be shipped to you as a kit, along with easy to follow instructions. $25 CAD.

You’re invited to my card blitz on April 29 if you live in the Whitecourt area. It’ll be held at the Days Inn at 2 pm. Bring a friend and get your geek on! In 1.5 hours, make as many cards as you want. There will be a minimal amount of fussy cutting, the rest is already done for you! Scissors are provided, though you should bring your own adhesive. The cost of the blitz is $25.

Will I see you there? I hope so!

April Layout Blitz Creative Projects

The layouts for my blitz in April are complete!

One of them is Christmas themed! If you’re feeling festive, then this event is for you! The deadline for registering is April 7; the fun happens on April 14. $40 gets you these four 2-page layouts, plus I’ll throw in the two bonus single page layouts for $5 each, making your total $50 CAD.

If you can’t make it, no sweat. Just let me know. I’ll make up a kit for you, as long as you’re able to supply the base pages and can purchase the Stargazer stamp set. It’s available only until March 31, so get your orders in soon! I’ll cut and stamp most everything else for you. It costs the same as above, plus the cost of the stamp set if you need it. Find it on my website here.

I hope to see you or hear from you- I’d love to share this workshop and kit with you!

April Layout Blitz Bonus Projects

A new round of workshops begins in April, and I have the bonus layouts complete. Wanna see?

I scraplifted myself both times. Have a look!

You’ll have to excuse the photos in this layout. I meant to create it with photo mats first, then add the pictures once it was completed, but I often forget. Since they’re there, this layout is going into an album I’ve been commissioned to make. I’m trying to make things easier for myself by recycling projects. The top layout is going to be used as the creative project for an upcoming Home Gathering. In addition to being placed into the album I’m making, both these layouts are also bonus projects in my Layout Blitz scheduled for April 14.

Would you like to create these layouts yourself? They’re $5 CAD each, and I’m willing to create a kit for anyone that wants them. (You’ll need to purchase the Stargazer stamp set from my website for an additional fee. Available only until March 31, 2018). Everything else will be done for you. Comment below to reserve your own kit. (Must be a Canadian resident).

Stay tuned for the rest of my layout blitz projects! (And ways to purchase them).

April’s TEDS Events

TEDS, as in The Everyday Scrapbooker, as in CTMH πŸ˜‰

Lots of events are coming up, and I thought I’d share them with you 😊

In April, I’ve got two public events to share with you: on Saturday, the 14th, I’m hosting a layout blitz. There will be four 2-page layouts to create- make one or all of them! The choice is yours! The cost is $40, and includes two single page bonus layouts for an additional charge. The blitz begins at 2 MST!

Then on the 29th, I’m hosting my card blitz. There’s 11 cards to choose between. In 1.5 hours, make what you’d like. That could be three cards, or all 11. You choose! The fee is $25. 2 pm the fun begins!

Both events will be held in the breakfast room at the Days Inn Whitecourt.

Now, I have a little secret to share with you. National Scrapbooking Day is coming up. It’s on May 5, the first Saturday in May. I’m planning a special event for NSD, and I’m hoping to make it a monthly event. Isn’t holding paper crafting events such a great idea for NSD?!

The event I’m planning? It’s a Day Crop! And, the best part is that there’s no registration fee!! Instead, place a small order of $30 on my Close to My Heart website, and that will count as your registration fee! There will be no workshops, either. Bring what you’d like to work on, and that’s all you’ll need. Supper will be provided. Join me from 11 am-11 pm Saturday May 5. It’ll be a great day!

As always, if you’re interested in hosting a Home Gathering, or would like to join my team (perhaps do both??), comment on this post or send me an email. I’d love to help you with both!

CTMH Pretty in Pink

February is going to be a busy month. Not like January wasn’t, just in a different way. Last month was full of family drama (for lack of a better word); this month will be full of CTMH business action! I’m excited and overwhelmed and nervous. So, even though I haven’t been checking in here, I have been busy. Wanna see?

First, I should mention that February is Pretty in Pink month at Close to My Heart. Select pink and gold product bundles are 30% off their regular price, while select individual items are 25% off. There are great products in this campaign! Go have a look- it’s on my website now! (Link will be provided at the bottom of this post.

With February’s constant campaign in mind, I created these projects:

I do have another motive for creating these projects, one of which is a home gathering that’s coming up in a couple weeks. (That’s the cards). The layouts are for another event that’s coming up, and it’s got me overwhelmed. And honoured. This is a huge opportunity for me. (And the cards actually. They’re pulling double duty). I won’t share more than that about my huge opportunity until I get the official word.

That’s all for now. I’ll have more to share again soon! Thanks for joining me today!

Friends Always

Hello friends! I’m dropping in to share another two page layout with you!

I’m crushing hard on Gimme Some Sugar. I love the colour pairings, the pattern (the flowers are great for fussy cutting and using as embellishments. Did you know that?!); it’s bright, fresh and summery. I can almost smell summer with this paper. (The pictures enable me to hear the sounds from the event- rodeo- we were at, too. I love it).

This layout is the third instalment in my layout Buffet. It’s coming up on March 24, from 5-8 pm. Kids are welcome- childcare is free at Bugz & Beanerz on Wednesday evenings! If you’re in the area, treat yourself to an evening out!

Join me again tomorrow so I can share the last project we’ll be making. You won’t want to miss it!
