CTMH Beary Christmas Album Workshop

Happy Tuesday! I’m working in high gear this week trying to get caught up and this weeks’ chores done before we head to the city again on Thursday (actually tomorrow night) for more appointments. Life is good, but so crazy these days! We have a wind warning for this afternoon, as well- I’m not looking forward to my hair being blown to smithereens. All that work this morning for nothing! Hopefully it doesn’t hit us until we’re done gymnastics tonight- at 7:30. Then it can blow all it wants. Has the wind hit your area yet?

So, my workshop last weekend was a success. All of the girls enjoyed scrapbooking and are looking forward to the next event. The wheels in the attic were turning while the girls were over, and I asked them how they felt about possibly adding to their current albums (if their parents were ok with it, of course). They thought it sounded like a good idea. I ran it past all of the parents involved, and they are game for an add-on, too.

So, introducing my newest workshop, scheduled for January 2018- Beary Christmas (Everyday Life) Album Workshop. Its for kids only, from ages 5 to 11, and its just $26 + the cost of shipping unless you invite a friend that confirms his or her attendance. Then shipping is free! (You’ll get $10 off your order). Great deal and good incentive, right?! I think so! I created this workshop with the girls that attended my last workshop in mind, but that doesn’t mean newcomers can’t participate, either! Newcomers just need to add the cost of their Everyday Life Mini Album to the total ($26). There’s three beautiful albums to choose from! Everything else is supplied. (Think tape, paper trimmer, Beary Christmas dots, coordinating cardstock and patterned paper, etc.) We’ll set aside a couple hours to get our craft on, a snack will be provided (there’s no extra cost for that!!), and I promise your kids will not want to leave. They didn’t want to leave this past weekend- in fact, one of the girls is coming over again this Saturday for an impromptu crop with the twins. Fun, right?! I might even join in the fun this time!

Want to see the materials we’ll be using to create our Christmas pages with? See below:

Next up- the extra supplies I’ll have on hand for the kids to use (no extra cost):

And, if I have newcomers to the workshop, here’s the album choices:

Choose your favourite album- you only need one! I love both the Sea Glass and Bashful albums (mint and baby pink), but the kids all seemed to love the Black and White stripes. Go figure! The Bashful album will only be available for a limited time (as is the Sea Glass, I believe), so I vote for either of them!

Thanks for joining me today! If you’re interested in signing your child up for this event, please comment below. The deadline to register is December 28, 2017. (To register, please send the workshop fee + $10 CAD for shipping to theeverydayscrapbooker@gmail.com via email transfer. The supplies will be ordered on your behalf on December 29, 2017, allowing enough time for it to ship and still get here on time!) Only available to residents of Whitecourt and/or Edmonton, Alberta.

See you again soon!

Accordion to Me CTMH Card

Good morning! It’s a wet and dreary morning here in northwestern Canada, which is great because I’m going to scrap today! I’m going through crafty withdrawals. I figure it’s high time I get back to it.

As you know, I held a kid friendly scrapbook workshop on Saturday. If you missed my post about it, you can find it right here.

I thought it would be nice to make cards for each of my guests thanking them for participating and sharing info about my next planned workshop. Today, I thought I’d share it with you.

To create this card, I used one of the patterns from my CTMH Originals Card pattern books (Lucky Three, pg. 59) and used up some more Little Dreamer and Jack patterned papers. I also threw in some CTMH glitter paper that I’d trimmed down for my Christmas cards and a bit of Sea Glass cardstock for the matted image. The stamped image and sentiment cane from an upcoming stamp of the month. Stay tuned for that!

PRODUCTS USED

– X772B Jack

– X7219B Little Dreamer

– 1385 White Daisy cardstock

– Sea Glass cardstock (retired)

– Z3238 Gold Glitter Paper

– Z2818 Desert Sand Exckusive Inks

– Z2810 Blossom Exclusive Inks

Summer Adventure Fundamentals Kids Workshop

Hello friends! Just dropping in briefly to share some highlights from yesterday’s Adventure Fundamentals Everyday Life Album workshop. Enjoy!

Hmm they uploaded in the wrong order. But, that’s ok. You get the jist.

Three of yesterday’s participants want to have a Christmas themed workshop- they want to keep adding to their albums! So, stay tuned for another KID friendly Everyday Life workshop!

(For those that are returning, this event will be a continuation of what we started- but we’ll be playing with Christmas products, instead. If you’re new, it’ll be a new event to you).

Stay tuned for more details- coming soon!

Silver & Gold Workshop

Hello friends. Forgive my absence yesterday, we had a last minute appointment in Edmonton. Today, I enjoyed the peace and quiet of being home alone. The weather is miserable, so it was a great day for introverting and scrapbooking.

I prepped for my Fall Card workshop, which is Friday, and then I created card samples for my upcoming Christmas workshop. Once that was done, I dove into starting my Christmas cards!

No, I’m not starting too early. I don’t have enough supplies to create them, so I’ll add more with Octobers order. Since it’ll take time, I won’t rush through making them 😊

Here, I’d love to show you what we’re making. I absolutely love them!

I followed the CTMH Creative Insider cutting guide to create the middle card and the card to the right. But, instead of strictly using the Pewter ink, I swapped it out for Bashful. I also based the card on the left on a card found within the Silver & Gold Workshop Your Way kit. It’s a bonus project, but loved it! That card was also tweaked just a teensy bit from the original.

I just ADORE Bashful paired with the gold shimmer trim and all new Pewter ink. It adds a touch of femininity and softness. And, I love the non-traditional Christmas colour scheme. Those patterns? Divine!

This workshop is taking place November 18, 2017. If you’re interested in attending, please rsvp by November 3, 2017.

If you love these cards but live too far away to attend my workshop, I have good news! As an alternative, I’ll create a cutting guide so you have the freedom to create at your own speed, in your own home. It’s yours FREE if you place an order with me (only for residents within the borders of Canada 🇨🇦).

If that’s you, please contact me. I’d love to help you get creative!

*Just a note, my cutting guide will be based on the cutting guides I used to create my samples, but it’ll reflect the changes I made to them for my own workshop.

Time is Nearly Up!

Are you missing me yet? Summer is finally here in our household! We’ve turned a new leaf in terms of my husbands’ job, and its allowing us a little more financial comfort to do the things we’ve waited patiently for over the last few years. (More consistent work, raises, etc.) So although summer is winding down, its finally begun for us! We went camping last weekend, and plan on going again in two weeks. If the weather lasts long enough, I think we should push it as far into September as we can…we’ll see. The Farmers Almanac is calling for flurries by the beginning of October. My fingers are crossed that doesn’t happen!

School starts in one week, too. Who else is as excited as I am?! Life has been so busy, I haven’t had the chance to buy school supplies yet, either. Tomorrow will be our day, I think. I’ll make it that way. I also need to buy new indoor shoes for the twins, too. Oy- time speeds up rather than slows down as the kids get older. I’m desperate for some quiet me time, but I haven’t been able to find it over the last three weeks. Hopefully when school starts? Friends, excuse me while I hermit for the first month when school starts. I’ll surface again, once I’m whole again.

There are sadly just two days left to take advantage of a few things from CTMH before they expire and/or are replaced by new things. First, the deadline to rsvp to my Grateful Card Class is Thursday. I will order the kits on Friday, so if you’ve been thinking about attending, please let me know ASAP!

Secondly, the Flash Warehouse Sales that have been happening every Tuesday through this month (August) will be wrapping up on Thursday, since the last day of the month falls on a Thursday. Head over to my website to grab the deals that are available this week- if there’s any left! Hopefully there is!

Lastly, there are two days left to purchase anything you’ve been dreaming of from the Seasonal Expressions catalog. Once August is out, so will it be! A new catalog will replace it- along with all new goodies- on September 1! To order, get in touch with me, or visit the website I shared above. You can shop directly from it any time of the day, 24/7!

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope to spend time a little more regularly with you very soon! I appreciate your patience.

Mid Summer Fiesta Online Crop With CTMH

You know the saying ‘time flies when you’re having fun’?

Its so true. Last week was an absolute blur. I had good intentions of sharing a bit via the blog every evening before going to bed, but when I opened up the editor, my brain went blank. I didn’t have the energy or the brain power by that point in the day to get anything concrete down. So, I left it.

I did miss it, though. Just in case you wondered. I thought of it nearly every day. (Must be a labor of love.) While I did get a couple layouts made while I was away to the city, I haven’t taken pictures of any of them just yet. I do have some housekeeping to share with you today, instead. I’ll start sharing those tomorrow. Once I’m done here, I’ll get back into my regular daily scrapping. (While I wait for laundry to wash and dry).

(My kids are currently watching the Princess Bride, and seriously- I nearly have the movie memorized. Its at the part where Princess Buttercup is set to marry Prince Humperdink before Wesley swoops in and rescues her. LOL. Its a classic!) Who else gets a kick out of the priest that marries Princess Buttercup and Prince Humperdink?

OK. Back to the housekeeping.

Tomorrow kicks off my renewed effort to build my CTMH business through offering classes and events (amongst Home Gatherings and online parties, if anyone is interested). I am hosting an online/virtual crop and everyone is invited. There are no strings attached- meaning I’m not here to try and up-sell and pressure anyone into becoming a customer. Although that would be ideal (and my eventual goal), I’m using this event as an opportunity to spread the word that I’m a consultant, and should anyone need supplies at any time, I’d be more than happy to help them purchase what they need. The prizes that are involved are all CTMH in nature.

There will be no sales pitch, no fine print, no catches. Come out, have fun, and craft your heart out. I have some games planned, some challenges (and they’re all easy, because I’m not sure what skill level everyone is at. Not everyone attending is a paper crafter, either).  I’ll have a specific thread open for chit chat, and once all the fun is over (you’ll have a month to finish your projects) submit your work for the chance to win a prize. IF its a hit, I’ll offer more events like this in the future.

The event starts at 1 pm MST tomorrow afternoon, and will continue until everyone peters out. I’ll only be able to commit until about 5 pm myself, because I still have my kids and husband to cook for. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t appreciate having to fend for themselves so I can just focus on what I love to do most- especially since time is set aside already (daily) so that I can scrap. But, like I said, the event doesn’t officially end until 11:59 pm MST on September 22, 2017. You’ll have until 11:59 PM MST the 24th to submit your projects to be considered for the prize, and I’ll have the winners announced by October 1, 2017.

Sound like fun? Here’s the event info!

Mid Summer Fiesta Online Crop

There is more housekeeping to share with y’all, but I think I’ll split up what I have to share and sprinkle it throughout the next couple posts. I don’t want to overwhelm everyone with all that’s new at CTMH this month! There’s some great stuff available- a new Annual Inspirations, new goodies to earn when you host an Online Gathering or Home Gathering (if you’re interested in any of this, please message me), and there’s more new goodies coming available next month (September), as well! Stay tuned. Your mind will be blown. For reals!

CTMH Cut Above Card Kit- Golden Moments

Did I mention in yesterday’s post that we’ll be creating 16 beautiful cards as part of card club in September? We are! (And, don’t forget, that’s all for just $26.50 CAD). The reason we’re creating so many cards is because we’re also creating the lovely new Cut Above card kit Golden Moments. There’s 10 cards in the set we’ll be creating. They will be a breeze to make- all the cutting is done for you, so all that needs to be done is adhere the parts and stamp the sentiment! Easy peasy! You’ll find it in the new Annual Inspirations catalog. Find it on my website here.

*This image belongs to Close to My Heart. I added my watermark for the ease of searching for my website. Either copy and paste the link or type it into into your search bar. It’ll take you directly to my CTMH website.

*The stamp set is sold separately, so you’ll just have to come to card club to see what it is we’ll be using! (Hint: its a new stamp, which means you’ll find it in the new Annual Inspirations catalog. It is part of the club supply list for September).

This blogging thing is proving to be really difficult. Unfortunately, I’m unable to share the last card in today’s post because it won’t upload. Again. Also, everything I had just saved up to this point has somehow disappeared. Le sigh.

You’ll just have to visit the events I’ve posted to Facebook to have a look at the cards we are creating this September. Here’s the link to yesterday’s post, which has the pertinent information you’re looking for!

I’m sorry this has been such a hassle! Hopefully the future will be kinder to me when I share club details!

CTMH Feel So Blessed Card Using Wax Paper

I wanted to craft using vellum, but I don’t have any. I’m not even sure where to find any, unless its included in your kits if you subscribe to a kit club. (Which I don’t, by the way. Hosting my own card club is as close as I’ve gotten to this avenue of creating.) So, what’s a girl to do?

While I was mulling over my creative options, I began to wonder if your regular old wax paper- the roll you’d find in your kitchen for your various baking endeavors- would create the same effect as vellum.

Happily, it does! Did you know that? Even better, its probably even cheaper than purchasing a sheet, or pack, of vellum! Score! The only downside to using wax paper, is that it’s more fragile than vellum is. But, as long as you treat it with love, your project will turn out beautiful!

Here’s an example:

Much like vellum, the wax paper softens whatever it is placed over- in this instance, it would be an ink sponged background. The next technique I’d honestly like to try is stamping directly on the wax paper or even trying to dry emboss it. Think it’ll work? I used Staz- On ink to stamp the ‘for you’ part of this card, but its faint. I think the next time, I’ll stamp directly in the background and then cover it with the wax paper. I suspect that my ink might just wipe off if I try stamping on it, but maybe I’ll be surprised. I won’t know until I try it. Experimenting is strangely gratifying and lots of fun!

This card is one that we will be making at my card club this September. You won’t just get to make one of these- we’ll be making three of them! I like this so much, I’m tempted to make five, just for myself. Additionally, the stamp set I used to create this card will be available for purchase in September, so you’re getting a sneak peek right now! How lucky! If your order reaches $50, this stamp set could be yours for $6. Its regularly $23. I will have it on hand at our card club, but you’re more than welcome to purchase it yourself, too. If you decide after card club that you’d really like this stamp set (or more of the supplies we used), just make another order! At the end of September, this stamp set will no longer be available for purchase.

Unfortunately,  I’ll share the rest of the cards we’re making in tomorrow’s post because the pictures didn’t want to load! So, please come back tomorrow to see more. I hope this inspires you to come check out my card clubs happening in September- one on the 16th in Whitecourt, and another on the 30th in Edmonton.

How does card club work? There is a fee involved- this club is $26.50. It covers the supplies you’ll need to make all of our cards. If you don’t use up all the supplies that you purchase, that’s fine. They’re yours to keep! We’ll be making 16 cards in total! Not a bad deal for $26, if you ask me. For this particular event, I’ll also be supplying the paper you need. Regularly, I would just cover the ink, stamps, stamping blocks and any other miscellaneous tools we’ll need to use.

Every month, each person in our club gets to play hostess, which enables her to receive products for free based on everyone’s orders. I would need 4 individuals to commit in order for this to work. The more participants we have, the more free products the hostess will get! Its initially going to run until November, upon which we’ll take a break for Christmas, and resume again in the new year. Our last card club will be held in June, before summer holidays begin. The fee will never be more than $30 CAD. A cutting guide will be included (free of charge if you’re part of my card club) so that you’ll be able to complete your cards after you get home. If that happens. If not, you’ve still got a cutting guide to use in the future!

The cutting guide is available to everyone to purchase, whether you live in Canada or not- even if you’re not part of card club! I still need to explore a price on that, but ballpark figure I think it’ll be $10. (But, I’m still working on smoothing out the kinks. Stay tuned!)

Reserve your spot early. Supplies should be ordered by the first of September if you’re coming to the September 16th event, and no later than the 15th if you’re coming to the September 30 event. Ideally, I’d like all attendees confirmed by RSVP’ing to one of the events I’ve posted to Facebook. I’ll share them below so you’re not scouring the net looking for them!

Whitecourt Event

Edmonton Event

Lastly, don’t forget about the Mid-Summer Fiesta CTMH Online Crop I’m hosting in a couple of weeks! I’d love to see you there! I have a few challenges and prizes lined up. Its going to be fun and relaxing!

August with Close to My Heart

There is a lot going on over at Close to My Heart this month! Boy, its going to be an exciting month! There’s a few things I can’t wait to get my hands on- such as the new Annual Inspirations catalog that was unveiled today- its available for purchase over on my website. You can also browse through it before you decide to purchase it. Check it out! I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve heard its filled to the brim with fabulous new products. (Which I wouldn’t doubt, because they always carry fabulous products!) I can’t wait to see what’s in it! (That will be next on my days’ to do list…)

Not only is there a new catalog to whet your appetite with, there’s also a new stamp of the month. I’ve been dying to order this stamp, because I’m working on improving my school themed scrapbook stash. This stamp set fits the bill, and I seriously can’t wait to play with it! When you place a qualifying order of $50 on my website (or with me), you’ll receive this stamp set for just $6. Its regularly $27 CAD. You can purchase it on its own, too.

School is definitely cool with this fantastic stamp set. How would you use it? I’m already envisioning it on my layouts and maybe some teacher appreciation cards, too. They’ll look so durn cute!

Lastly, if you noticed the image at the top of this post, you’ll know that Close to My Heart is also hosting a warehouse sale through the month of August. Every week the sale is different, so make sure to stop in every Tuesday to see what’s up for grabs. This week, you’ll find an ultimate embellishment bundle, Swan Lake paper packet and paper bundle, Thin Cuts bundles and more! All retired and all 50% off! I’ve got my eye on the Swan Lake paper bundle. But, don’t wait! These items are limited and will sell out fast! Message me to add to my monthly order, or head right now to my website to place your order. (You can find the link a bit further up in this blog post).

Also, I just want to remind you that I’ve got my own events coming up later this month and in September. I’ll share more details about them tomorrow, because I think this is enough info to absorb at the moment. But, seriously- don’t miss out! There’s a lot of fun stuff going on, and you should get yourself in on some of it. Some of it will stick around for the entire year, and some of it will only last for the week (possibly less). Get ‘er done!

Mid Summer Fiesta CTMH Online Crop

Summer is a busy time for a lot of people. It usually is for us, too, but it seems we have a lot of down time on our hands this year. We don’t have any real camping trips planned, and I couldn’t get the kids into swimming until late in August, so we’re scratching our heads on a (nearly) daily basis trying to think of things to do. Its also been hot, so we’ve been spending a lot of time in the basement, where its cool.

Even with all this downtime, I don’t seem to be able to get in my craft room for long- or at all. If I do, the words I hear most is ‘mom, mom, mom…’ and ‘I’m bored’. Tell me that again. I have LOTS to get done around here! I can easily put you to work! Can any mama’s relate? It wears a person down, especially when its on a constant basis.

I finally told my kids that I needed some ‘me time’ yesterday, and I played in my craft room for a couple of hours. While I was playing, an idea struck me. (Which also seems to account for the lack of playing in my craft room these days. The brain never stops working!) Sort of like the computer with 2785 tabs open meme that’s floating around these days. I know you can relate to that!

I have a couple card club workshops planned for September. Did you know that? I have one planned for my hometown, Whitecourt, and another for my home city, Edmonton. If you live in or around either of these areas, I’d love for you to join us! We’ll be creating 9 cards using three different designs. The club fee is $30 and covers all the materials you’ll need to create all those wonderful cards. It may also be less than $30. There will be times we’ll need less materials, so it won’t cost as much. It’ll also be a great time to meet new people and relax for a bit with out kids underfoot saying ‘mom, mom, mom…’. I’ll even provide the wine! How about that! Ha!

But, then another idea struck me. Why not host an online crop for those that are dying to get into their craft rooms, but aren’t able to, just like me? It’ll be a wonderful afternoon- gather whatever snacks and bevvies you want, skip on over to your craft area, turn on the computer, and join in the fun! I have a couple simple challenges planned (nothing more difficult than creating a card, layout- with a twist, of course- and an off the page project.) Anyone and everyone is welcome. If you don’t scrapbook or make cards, there’ll be something for you, too. And, the best part: there’ll be some prizes, too! Make sure to invite your friends and spread the word- there may be a prize for that, too. (The catch is they need to attend!) Your projects won’t need to be completed by the time the online crop is over. I’ll allow some time once the event is over for projects to be completed. Then I’ll draw prizes for the best project in each of those three categories. Doesn’t that sound enticing?! (I hope so!!)

The event is posted to my Facebook page– have you ever been there? Now is the time to check it out if you haven’t. If you scroll down a bit, you’ll find the event posting. If you can’t find it, comment on this post if you’re interested in joining! You’ll also find a bit of everything on my Facebook page, too- my projects, news, and blog posts. Get it all in one spot.

Even better, here’s the event posting. How’s that for efficiency!

Mark August 20 @ 1 pm (MST) on your calendars. That’s when all the fun begins.

*Just a note- there is NO fee to join the online crop. This is all just in the name of fun. The prizes will all be CTMH, as well. Depending on the popularity of this event, I may offer it every summer to kick off the pending years events’ following it. Join me and have some fun!
